Dated and Dirty hotel, smells like an ashtray throughout... Rude and unhelpfull staff, especially reception and duty manager. Pool and spa dirty and filled with salt rather than chlorine, restaurants also dirty and stank of smoke! Wont be going back, book another hotel which are cheaper and better located, Holiday Inn on same site a better option!

We picked the Ameristar because it was one of the cheapest options in the area. It was really nice. The rooms are spacious and clean. It has a fridge and certain floors have a microwave in the common area you can use. The casino is right downstairs. The room is quiet considering a normal casino crowd. The lobby is really pretty - kind of a French Riviera looking design. It’s fairly close to the downtown/Old Market area and not too far from the airport. It was a really nice stay for a good price.

We were in a queen double. The pillows on one bed were dirty and the clean pillow cases were left on the bed.Because we were not sure the cases were clean we went to the front desk. I was given clean pillow covers and told I had to change them myself. There was garbage left in the bathroom waste paper basket and we only got. 2 bath towels, one hand towel and one facecloth. No bath mat. We asked for some sort of compensation and were told the manager was not in. We asked for a call to discuss our dissatisfaction but never got a call or any compensation for the disaster.

We stayed here a couple nights while in town for the CWS. We have 2 teenage boys and this hotel did not live up to what is advertised. Pros: the room is quiet and beds were comfortable. We didn’t hear anyone in the halls or next to us. The air conditioning in the room worked well. Overall room was clean. Casino was fun and clean. Slots paid out well and we had fun at the tables. Cons: There are limited food options. The buffet was closed the whole time. The bakery that others posted pictures of is no longer there. It’s not a restaurant that also was never open. The boys were only allowed in the 1 restaurant which was mediocre. The sports bar is connected to the sports book so anyone under 21 can no eat in there. No place to get water or snacks. Our room did not get cleaned even after we had asked. Overall we were disappointed in the amenities.

Hotel was nice, clean, and quiet, although I do agree with other reviewers that the distance from the main entrance and lobby/check in area to the elevators seems a bit excessive compared to most hotel/casinos I've visited (and the signage to locate the elevators could definitely be better). The only "issues" I encountered was the RFID key cards seemed to always require 2-3 attempts at the readers both to access the elevators and to unlock the room; and I found the need to use a key card to access the on-floor vending machine rooms a little excessive. Neither was a huge deal, but I figured worth mentioning. The check-in process was one of the smoothest I've experienced recently, only taking 2 or 3 minutes, and the staff was friendly and welcoming. I don't get to the Omaha area often, but when I do return I'll be quite happy to stay here again.

It smelled so bad like cigarettes we had to leave after an hour of swimming only! The layout is terrible, you have to walk through the entire hotel to get from the rooms to the pool so plan on changing in the bathrooms by the pool bc we had to walk in our wet swimsuits through the lobby, past the restaurants, past the bar, past the casino to get back to the elevator that goes to the rooms. The manager scott I think was his name was terrible to us and the girl checking us in had a face tattoo and couldn't hold/stand still like she was methin around. 0 out of 10 do not recommend for families bc of the cigarette smell, TOXIC

I frequently stay at Ameristar Council Bluffs, The rooms are always clean.They have comfortable beds and pillows.Coffee maker in room, microwaves on alternating floors. Ice machines are always working.Nice to have a pool and workout room.like the mobile check in and mobile keys, no need to go the front desk. The casino hosts here are great. Good food options with mobile ordering if you want pick up.

They keep on removing the classic games and it seems that there are fewer staff. When problems occur with the machines one generally has to wait 5-10 minutes for service. Once I was scolded by a technician stating that he "services machines in order!" In other words, he'll service machines no one is playing before he'll service one that is being played.
