Hotel Malibran

It is initially quite welcoming ... Close to the beach and restaurants easily reachable on foot, near the pedestrian street. Discreet breakfast in terms of taste, little restocked, to avoid coffee (more dirty water) ... No lift, a labyrinth to reach the room. Terrible cleaning... sand under the bed and even worse, a cut toenail on the pillow... small bathroom, no mosquito nets... limescale everywhere, no balcony, unusable parking (more like a tetris-like joint) very old furniture , no safe or fridge... TV not working. Unavailable staff.

I give a dot because it is not possible to give less. I came to this hotel for the first time in 2017 with some friends, the room assigned was a triple in the attic (3rd or 4th floor without lift). Old room but we made it go well because it is very spacious. I go back in September 2022 and notice that no changes have been made in fact, it is more rundown than I remembered. This time I'm in a triple on the first floor: the single bed at the end of the double bed practically stuck together, gray carpet with grease stains and stuck chewing gum. Sheets soiled with blood, air conditioner that works, but when it is activated, a nauseating smell comes out. Blankets that smell like mildew, broken and chipped furniture. The top was the bathroom, the shower consists of a hand shower attached to the wall with a curtain, no shower tray and a drain perhaps 20 cm from the toilet. In practice, when you wash you flood the bathroom always characterized by a strong smell of sewage. The first aid kit was the icing on the cake: I needed to ask for plasters and the owner's response was, "I don't have any plasters because I'm around, I need disinfectant, scotch and cotton". I was dumbfounded. I have no words to describe the disgust, the lack of professionalism, hygiene and above all respect for the minimum standards that I found in this "hotel".

Really bad experience. My boyfriend and I arrived at the hotel at 8.00 in the morning and as soon as we headed to the door they locked it. Obviously I did not expect to check-in or to have the room but simply to be able to leave the car in the hotel parking lot and to have a place on the beach, which was included in the price. Eventually we had to wait until 10.30 to do all this. At check-in they even make you pay the price of the stay, which seemed strange to me but then after entering the room I understood why, they make you pay immediately otherwise you would leave instantly. The room is obscene. In the bathroom there is a shower with a curtain, and the sprayer points on the toilet so the whole bathroom floods. In the evening I had to go and buy bed sanitizer because the sheets were dirty otherwise I wouldn't have been able to sleep in them. The air conditioner is impossible to leave it on during the night due to the loud noise. The breakfast in the morning is really poor. Only positive is the really nice staff

The only thing that can be saved is the place for an umbrella on the beach. The structure is decadent and very badly kept, not to mention the room and bathroom which are very small. The breakfast is poor and also sucks. We stayed 3 days and in our package we had half board, but the food was really bad and not following the menu list compiled the night before. The only positive note is the really friendly staff.

Attic room on the third floor, no lift. Breakfast ok. We had two rooms and a car but they had it put in the parking lot (not in the hotel parking lot) because it was 'too big' even if I repeat, the car was one for only two rooms. No possibility to leave suitcases for the day of exit (which never happened) Only positive note smiling and kind cleaning ladies

Thankfully I didn't read any reviews before staying there. The property is dated so it is not suitable if you have something modern and sophisticated in mind. If, on the other hand, you are happy with a retro-style holiday, this unpretentious hotel can make you unexpectedly happy. I found a spotlessly clean room, a small bathroom but admirable maintenance (doors like new and no damaged or broken tiles, practically looked new even if vintage), first floor room with a nice large balcony. Having stayed at the end of April I was a bit worried about the weather but the room had the perfect temperature and a blanket taken from the wardrobe did the rest. Breakfast tailored to the number of guests present (few at the time of my stay) but varied even if essential. A few steps from Piazza Mazzini and the sea in a strategic position to the maximum also to go out in the center without a car. Small car park so the car keys are requested at reception but still there is parking! Friendly staff. There was no night porter but it is still possible to return late independently. Small flaw: the restaurant was not yet open (understandable at the end of April) and having heard of it it was a shame !!! It will be up to go back! At the time of my stay the rate was very low compared to some taverns I paid a lot more, dirty, bare and which served packaged croissants for breakfast. Here we were fine.
