InterContinental Hotels LIJIANG ANCIENT TOWN RESORT by IHG

I booked a two-night stay in Lijiang in advance. Lucy from the hotel added me on WeChat beforehand, and she was always responsive and helpful with any questions or requests during my stay. The hotel has a large area with beautiful surroundings. The flower and plant landscaping is well-maintained, and the rooms are clean and tidy. However, since it's an older property, the facilities aren't as modern as newer hotels: there's no smart toilet, and the swimming pool and gym are quite basic. Due to regional differences, I wasn't really used to the taste of the hotel breakfast.

I had originally booked a guesthouse, but as I passed by, I noticed the InterContinental right next to the ancient city. After checking, I found I could cancel the guesthouse booking, so I decisively booked the InterContinental instead. The hotel environment is absolutely first-class. After checking in at the front desk, there's a shuttle bus to take you to your room. It truly lives up to its five-star standard; the shuttle driver even helped carry my luggage to the room, so I didn't have to lift a finger – very polite. After settling in, I immediately headed to the ancient city. Suddenly, a customer service representative, Miss Cici, called to ask if I was satisfied with the room. I mentioned just one minor issue, and she immediately arranged an upgrade to a better room. I told her not to bother, as I had already used some items in the current room, but she insisted it was no problem. In the end, I happily accepted; the service truly was impeccable. This was my first time in Lijiang, and I stayed at the best hotel. Next time, I will definitely continue to choose a reputable brand like the InterContinental.

InterContinental Lijiang Ancient Town Resort, a Naxi garden sanctuary right next to the Old Town 🏔️ This hotel offers a peaceful retreat amidst the hustle and bustle, with a private back entrance directly into Dayan Ancient Town. You won't have to drag your luggage over cobblestones after exploring. The resort features charming streams and bridges, and the lobby offers stunning views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain on clear days, creating an incredible ambiance. Buggy service is readily available, and the rooms retain their Naxi style with excellent amenities. Leave the crowds of the Old Town behind and return to the hotel for a quiet and relaxing getaway. It's definitely a top choice for accommodation in Lijiang. Bella provided excellent service, and the hotel spa was incredibly comfortable!

Traveling with kids, location and cleanliness are always top priorities, and the Intercontinental generally delivers. The hotel's interior is lovely, and it was quiet at night, allowing for a good night's sleep. The public areas are well-maintained. The room itself was a bit dated, which is understandable given its age, but overall, it was still a good stay. Many thanks to Tina at check-in and the lovely lady at the beverage counter (apologies, I forgot her name!). We had a pleasant stay.

The garden-style environment was decent, but the room itself was just average. There was a lot of mold on the shower walls, bloodstains on the bathroom walls, and a thick layer of dust on some of the cabinets. The cleaning staff were quite disruptive in the mornings from 7-10 AM, chatting loudly and talking on their phones. The ancient town was conveniently located, but there wasn't much to do there.

I was very satisfied with my stay at InterContinental Lijiang this trip. The hotel environment is tranquil, and the soundproofing is good, ensuring a great night's rest. The rooms are spotless and well-equipped with amenities. The staff are friendly and handle small requests properly. Claire, in particular, was very helpful. It was a very pleasant stay.

Excellent location with convenient transportation. The hotel facilities are complete, right on the edge of the ancient town. Upon check-in, we had a dedicated customer service representative answer our questions. Our one-on-one butler, Tina, provided us with a detailed itinerary for exploring Lijiang and recommended some great local food. She was very responsive to all our questions and requests. The service was very thoughtful, highly recommended.

This hotel is hands down the best I've ever stayed at in terms of environment and service. Our butler, Lucy, reached out early via WeChat to send Lijiang guides and understand our room needs. The front desk staff saw we were two adults and two children and upgraded our room for free. On the day we left, because we had to catch a 7 AM train, our butler thoughtfully packed us breakfast.

Excellent stay! The common areas are beautiful, and it's right outside Lijiang Ancient Town. The rooms have an antique charm, all in two-story buildings. The staff helps with luggage, and the rooms get great sunlight. Highly recommend, I'd choose this place again on my next visit to Lijiang!
