DuoFu Resort (Lijiang Ancient City South Gate) Reviews

This hotel exceeded my expectations; we stayed for 3 nights. First, the location: it's right next to the South Gate of the Old Town, literally a wall away. The hotel's back entrance leads directly into the Old Town, which is incredibly convenient. Taxis and cars can drop you off right at the hotel entrance. It's also not far from Zhongyi Market, where you can catch the 101 Snow Mountain special line to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain and return there. Baisha Ancient Town is also a short taxi ride away. Next, the architecture and facilities: the hotel is truly beautiful, exuding an ancient charm that's perfect for photos – every spot is picturesque. My kids were so excited, running up and down as soon as we arrived. The laundry room has both washing machines and dryers, located with the gym, where my kids also enjoyed playing foosball. The breakfast was quite rich and varied! Finally, the service: the hotel provides a complimentary gift daily, including fruit, flower cakes, Dongba wind chimes, and tamarind juice. We had a minor incident during our stay; on the first night, the room next to ours had their TV on late into the night. When the staff found out, they immediately tried to resolve it by calling the room, but there was no answer. Knocking on the door also yielded no response, so they probably assumed the guests were asleep. The staff then promptly moved us to another room. Knowing I was traveling with two children and that packing up would be troublesome, they didn't make us move our luggage; we just went directly to the new room to sleep and rest, and they kept apologizing. The next day, the original neighboring room extended their stay, so they immediately moved us to yet another new room. The staff even came to help us with our luggage. Their service and shift handover were absolutely seamless. Although these tasks involved several different staff members, it felt like a single person was attending to us, with no hitches whatsoever – it was incredibly comforting! The day before we left, they even gave us another gift as an apology. I'm truly grateful to them; they made our holiday a wonderful experience!

This hotel has so much character! It's in a great location with convenient parking, which is a huge plus. Definitely recommend staying here! It's right next to the old town, and you can access it directly from the back of the hotel, which is super handy. Just be aware that this gate closes at night for security.

The hotel is right by the south gate of the ancient town, on the main road, making it very convenient to get around. It has an antique charm, and the flowers in the backyard are absolutely beautiful. They offered complimentary fruit, flower cakes, drinks, and a small souvenir. The room was generally clean, and the bathroom was spacious, though the drainage was a bit slow, which the hotel could look into. A humidifier was provided, which is essential in Lijiang given how dry it is. We stayed for three nights, and while we were out during the day, the room was cleaned, and they even folded our pajamas left on the bed, though it was a bit haphazardly done 😅. The soundproofing is indeed average, understandable since everything is made of wood. I had read reviews before booking, so I requested a quieter room from the front desk, and we were hardly disturbed during our stay. Breakfast was decent too. For a price of just over 300, I'm very satisfied.

The security guard also helped us with our luggage and was incredibly kind. The hotel environment is also superb, with a wonderful ambiance – a charming, retro courtyard and pavilions. You can even do tie-dye right at the hotel, which is super convenient. We booked for two days, and because we had to leave very early one morning, the front desk staff even packed breakfast for us to take with us – so thoughtful! The hotel's location is right on the edge of Lijiang Old Town, so you can just step out and explore, which is incredibly convenient. This stay was amazing, and we even got a small gift. Thumbs up!

This was my second trip to Lijiang, and I chose this hotel again. Its location right by the South Gate of the Old Town is excellent; it's convenient whether you're taking a taxi to the train station or walking into the Old Town. The hotel has a charming, antique feel, and the environment is serene – a quiet escape in the midst of activity. The room was clean and well-maintained, with great attention to detail; they even provided masks and earplugs, which was a thoughtful touch. The breakfast spread was extensive, offering both Chinese and Western options, and the rice noodles were delicious. For dinner, they offer a signature cured pork rib hot pot for 128 yuan for two people, which was incredibly tasty and created a wonderful dining atmosphere. It's hard to believe such quality comes at that price. The hotel also has a self-service laundry room, which is a huge convenience for long-term travelers like myself. Every time, I've found the front desk and room service staff to be very enthusiastic and quick to respond. They even gave us a lovely Naxi souvenir, making for a happy start to our trip at Dover Resort Hotel. I still love it here; the overall experience is absolutely top-notch. I'll definitely choose this place again on my next visit to Lijiang!

The hotel's architecture has a strong Naxi ethnic style, with a spacious courtyard adorned with batik fabrics, making it a feast for the eyes. Upon check-in, we were given a complimentary room upgrade, which was a wonderful surprise. There was also a welcome card along with snacks and fruit. The room facilities were complete, the bedding was clean and comfortable, and the daily cleaning was thorough. Every afternoon, the staff would even turn on the warm air conditioning at a set time. The service was warm and thoughtful, and the breakfast had a rich variety and excellent taste. It was a very good stay, the hotel is great, keep up the good work! 👍🏻👍🏻

Extremely satisfied with my stay! The Lijiang Dover Holiday Hotel boasts an elegant environment with a strong Naxi cultural vibe, and its courtyard design is truly charming. The rooms are spacious and bright, and the cleanliness is impeccable. The front desk service was attentive and responsive. The location is superb, making it incredibly convenient to walk and explore the ancient town. Overall, it was quiet and comfortable, providing an excellent experience. I'll definitely choose this hotel again next time I'm in Lijiang, highly recommend it!

Maybe it's because the holidays are over and all the staff are taking their compensatory leave. I called room service and it was a busy signal. They also didn't proactively offer me kids' slippers and toothbrushes this time, and even two fewer security guards were on duty. But the hotel is still beautiful. In the morning, a bunch of tourists came to take photos in the backyard.

Conveniently located within the old town, this hotel is very clean with beautiful and distinctive architecture and decor, making it perfect for photos. The staff are very friendly, the facilities are excellent, and it offers great value for money. Definitely worth a stay!
