Hôtel de Paris

The 19th century hotel was well located between the train station and the centre of Limoges. My room was pretty small and the bathroom was also very small (a cupboard really). There is no air conditioning in the hotel but I did notice a couple of portable units. That was not a big problem because it was relatively cool when I visited - I would not stay at this hotel in the summer! The breakfast was OK but with limited choice - no fresh fruit for two out of three days but the pastry basket supplied was fine.

On the postive side the location is perfect for exploring Limoge. The hotel was pretty clean. The owner/ manager was generally helpful though on several occasions was rather bursque. The elegance room size is ok, but the paint work is chipped and the carpet must be 40 years old, tired and doesn't match the decor. There is no safe in the room, the TV only had channels in Frenh, we were provided with a bottle of tap water and paper cups - that were not replaced over 3 days. There was very little storage, only a cupboard with 3 hangers. Breakfast was adequate, but neither varied or generous. In fact on the 1st day, I asked the manager if they had a banana, as there was a very poor fuit selection, he simply said NO! Nor did he make any effort to get any for the next 2 days we were there. The bed was large and comfortable. It seems that the whole place is run by one chap and a perhaps a cleaner.

I had an elegance double room, it was an ample size and I had a good rest. There is a car park opposite which is handy if you have a car. Breakfast just consists of pastries, bread and refreshments but is a good start to the day and value for money. The manager will do a boiled egg if you would like one. This is a very nice hotel and I would stay here again.

The hotel was perfectly located for site seeing in Limoges. Parking was very easy in the car park across the road. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful. He suggested places to eat and places to visit. Our room was lovely, with a great big, comfy bed and lovely big windows. Breakfast was excellent with a choice of cereals pastries, fruit juice and hot drinks. Highly recommend.

Lovely old building and supremely helpful staff - good recommendations for bars and food, parking opposite Stayed in one of the attic rooms (featured in the gallery) so had to keep the fan on overnight as it was a bit stuffy Comfortable bed, good shower - would use again

Good value one night stop. Good location for a one night stop. Very convenient cheap parking across the road. Boutique hotel so lacked air con but room was cool enough to sleep. Good value breakfast with good choice of pastries. Excellent restaurant recommendations from the host who helped reserve a table in local restaurant.

The hotel is a great little boutique style place that has been recently renovated to a very high standard. Limoges centre with its beautiful architecture is a 10 min walk away and after a chat with the e hotel owner we had a number of suggestions for dinner and a quick sightseeing tour. Well worth a stop off as we did on our little road trip up through France.
