Novotel Lisboa

DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL! Save your money and stay elsewhere. We booked a four-night stay at this hotel for our anniversary trip and were extremely disappointed. Almost all of the advertised amenities were either unusable or under construction. We felt misled because none of this was clearly disclosed on the booking website before our arrival, and no compensation or goodwill gesture was offered despite the poor conditions. 1. The gym was completely unusable. It looked more like a construction site than a fitness facility, with tools, bricks, sandbags, and building materials scattered everywhere. 2. The swimming pool was poorly maintained. The pool appeared dirty, the shower facilities were not working, and the poolside terrace was closed. Chairs were stacked up around the area, making it look abandoned rather than part of a hotel. 3. Ongoing construction disrupted the entire stay. Half of the lobby and restaurant area was closed, and there was constant noise from construction workers throughout the day. It was impossible to relax, work on a laptop, or even have a conversation comfortably in the common areas. 4. A serious privacy issue occurred on our checkout day. Just before 9:00 a.m., while we were still in bed, a cleaner unlocked our room and walked straight in without knocking. Checkout wasn’t until 12:00 p.m. We were shocked and felt our privacy had been completely disregarded. No explanation or apology was provided afterward. 5. The hotel was dusty and poorly managed. Construction dust was noticeable throughout the property, and the staff appeared indifferent to the situation. Every corner of the hotel felt neglected, giving the impression of a €10 hostel rather than a hotel charging premium rates. This was supposed to be a special anniversary trip, but instead it became a very frustrating experience. Had we known the true condition of the property, we would never have booked it. Very clean and modern hotel. The beds were comfortable and the room was spacious. Staff was very helpful and friendly.

Clean. Reasonable price. but the room is too warm, no air conditioning. Window cannot be open. Breakfast is good. We enjoy the food.

Travelled to Lisbon for business on a two day trip. This hotel is still going through fairly invasive renovation in the lobby and pool area. The new rooms are really nice, but the rest of the hotel is just a bit of a mess. Would not recommend until completion!

Overall the hotel environment was quite nice, and the general facilities were acceptable. However, there were a few issues that I hope the management can take seriously. Firstly, the listing indicated that there was a swimming pool available. However, upon arrival I was informed that the pool is seasonal and was not open during my stay. This information was not clearly communicated beforehand, which was disappointing. Secondly, the air conditioning system did not seem to function reliably. During the two nights of my stay, the room temperature was not very comfortable, even though I set the temperature as low as 14°C. In addition, there was an unpleasant smell coming intermittently from the ventilation outlet, which made the room environment less comfortable. Most importantly, after returning home, I developed a skin rash and was diagnosed with scabies by a doctor. While it is difficult to determine the exact source, this condition may have been related to the accommodation. I strongly recommend that the hotel carefully review its hygiene standards and bedding sanitation procedures to prevent potential health risks for future guests. Aside from the issues mentioned above, the stay was generally acceptable, but I hope the hotel will take these concerns seriously and improve the guest experience.

The room is spacious. Clean and has good amenities. It smelled bad inside the elevator all the time. The lobby isn't very present with dirty floors. Breakfast was average. The location was good for me, but a few metro stops away from the touristy spots. But it's a safe location w plenty of other hotel chains, office buildings and restaurants.

Location is a bit far from the City Center But Uber in Lisbon is a really good price! Enjoy staying in Novotel Lisbon
