I was quite nervous about staying at this place looking at past reviews but I shouldn’t have been. I think you have to consider this based on the price, especially compared toots standard hotels in Lisbon. Residencia do Norte is halfway between a hotel and a hostel. Private individual rooms but with shared bathroom. My room did have a toilet, bidet and sink so I only had to use the shared facility to shower. The place was very clean and the bed was comfortable. It’s in a fantastic location in the heat of Bairro Alto and sandwiched between several late bars so there is some noise at night. Earplugs are provided though. The rooms are fairly basic but cute, with some traditional Portuguese tiles. The staff are friendly, especially the cleaner. No aircon but I had a large cooling fan which they give you ice blocks to put into which kept my room at a good temperature. For the location, price and convenience I would definitely stay here again.
