Altis Avenida Hotel

Baixa Lisbon|0.29km from Praca da Figueira
I visited this place in march 2022 with my husband. The + of this hotel: - modern (I think they have redecorated it recently) - perfect situation (you are between Avenida da Liberdade with Restauradores square on one side and the Rossio square) and you have thus plenty of restaurants and shops right next to the hotel, as well as many places of interest to visit in the neighbourhood - a good restaurant at the top of the hotel with a great terrasse from where you can admire the city: the Rossio Gastrobar It is « tapas » kind and it was one of the best food we had during this 3 nights stay - a good breakfast offer in a room which is also situated on the roof top, on the other side of the gastrobar, though a little bit noisy when it is full - the rooms are correctly equipped and perfectly clean - though you are in an animated area, it is perfectly calm and quiet in the rooms The - now: - the bedrooms are very dark. We took one superior with balcony but still, all was black in this room and the view was…not what we expected, even if it was on a quite high floor. In fact most of them are facing their other hotel across the road. I bet you’d better take a suite to get an open view. - service is ok but very discreet (reception) or jaded (gastrobar). It was good at breakfast. Let me explain: I couldn’t get a reservation in any of the three restaurants I had asked for my last evening through the reception. I guess it saved me money :-) At Gastrobar, several waiters were acting as if they had not seen our signs, waiting for the only waitress that night to do it at their place (which she always did)

Raw Culture Art & Lofts Bairro Alto

Baixa Lisbon|0.48km from Praca da Figueira
It started out rocky as the pickup we booked via hotel was 30 min late to get us at the airport. However the rest of our stay was still so good that I am willing to give it five stars. Room - huge lofts with kitchen and king bed and 3 half baths. No tub but shower was nice and strong. Concrete floor was great as we visited Lisbon in 100 degree weather. The robe and slipper provided were high quality as was the large bath towels. It was a nice touch to get a free liter of water and a small wine as a welcome Breakfast - included with our stay is awesome. Freshly made to order as this place only has 12 lofts. We got scrabbled eggs every day that came with these tomatoes and sliced ham that was simply delicious. Location - is in the midst of bars and restaurants. Many good places nearby. Thankfully with double pane windows, it was pretty quiet for us to sleep even though many party late in the night outside. Only inconvenience is Uber or bolt cannot pick up at door as its in an alleyway. Need to walk 100ft to Main Street to get a Uber or bolt. Bed - roomy and comfortable. They do put two twin together with a big cushion on top but it was very nice bed. Staff - super friendly and helpful. Maria checked us in and was very nice and Philip gave us free welcome drinks and showed us to a restaurant right outside he liked. We liked it too and had a nice dinner for only 30 euros of sardines and grilled sea bream. Yum. I would definitely book again.

Excellent service from start to finish; reception friendly answers and advice. Lift to rooms. Perfect location in centre of Baixa so close to all you need, and to the key tram terminals to make it easier to get on one; and to Rossio train and metro stations. A huge number of restaurants nearby to choose from.

This is a very nice hostel. Everyone is very friendly and the receptionist even spent time with me at check in to show me Lisbon on a map and where to go. I was in a 4 bed dorm room which was spacious and had everything you needed. Be aware that they only have mixed gender rooms so if this makes you uncomfortable then I recommend somewhere else. It was quite hot in my room however this can be mitigated by opening the window if you don’t mind traffic noise. I did get unlucky as there was a bachelor part staying in the hostel at the same time as me and they were very loud. The hostel is very well located plenty of restaurants and landmarks within walking distance and the subway is also very close. There is no laundry on site so you will have find one close by if needed. There is a bathroom on each floor and they stayed remarkably clean considering how many people use them. All in all a very good hostel.

One of the best hotels we've stayed in, with some of the friendliest employees we have ever encountered. Cristina and David were two of the most amiable and helpful Front of House staff members we could have wished for; always cheerful and often going out of their way to help us. Nelson and Rachel were also polite and efficient on the reception and our house-made Annabel kept our bedroom spotlessly clean and tidy. Situated almost directly in front of Rossio Square, the hotel has an immaculately restored traditional Portuguese façade with an ultra modern interior and is ideally situated a 5 minute walk away from the train station. This proved ideal for day trips to beautifully picturesque Sintra and the beach at Cascais. A luxurious King Size bed in a spacious, super efficiently air conditioned bedroom ensured a refreshing refuge from the hotter July temperatures and a very good night's sleep. A big thank you to Christina and David once again.

Had a fab visit here in March, stayed 4 nights in room 406, very happy with everything. Lovely and clean, helpful staff. We enjoyed the excellent food selection each morning for breakfast. The highlight was the singing chef. The food was beautifully laid out. Fun to have freshly made pancakes from the automatic machine. Complimentary soft drinks and coffee pods in room. Loved looking across the square from our window. Easy to get to everywhere very central, metro Rossi just across the square. Very near to tram 28 which we took a ride on ( included in our daily metro ticket ) Easy walk up to castle, lift available. Hope to return again ! No hesitation to book again.

The entrance to the hotel is small, but the rooms are very comfortable, clean and spacious. The Rossio subway station is downstairs, not far from the airport, and there are yellowbus and taxi stations downstairs. It is close and convenient to various scenic spots and restaurants. Not far from the beach, I recommend the net celebrity seafood restaurant uma and fado performance restaurants gin lovers
