Oh dear. I've stayed in dozens of Premier Inns so you kind of know what to expect but this one falls behind. It's in a fabulous location and I love the building but it's tired and needs money spending on it. For example the lifts are held together with duck tape, the corridor floor creaks so loud it feels like it's going to collapse under you and there's a sign at the end of the corridor saying "tip toe" so you don't annoy other guests. You heard them coming from miles away. The rooms were damp. The windows were locked so no ventilation and the condensation was bad. The smiley faces and the word Everton drawn onto the glass by previous guests showed they were not cleaned very often. The aircon system didn't work. Kept switching off. The bed was ripped around the edges and a lot smaller than usual. The ceiling was damaged and the walls damp. The food was ok. Breakfast had a wide choice but things did run out and weren't replaced quickly. We had an evening meal there which was ok. But the soup was luke warm. Now for the staff. I thought Liverpool people were supposed to be really friendly. Not here. Everything was an effort. No warm welcome. Overall a real shame. I appreciate it's not the Hilton but like I said you get to know what to expect and this place although it's a beautiful old building in an amazing location it failed in so many places.

This is no reflection on the staff, however, but we waited over an hour one afternoon to get served at the bar. There was no one there. I had to walk round to the door to the kitchen and knock and ask someone there to get someone to serve us. That happened on 2 different occasions. The heating in our room wasn’t working at all, we would turn the thermostat on and it went off again within seconds, the room was so cold. The self service at breakfast was not acceptable at all, the queue was huge to start with, then there was no orange juice.. then the queue for the food was too long and when you finally got to the service stations there was very little or in some trays no food at all! It was talking too long to be replenished. There were no cups for coffee or tea, and no cold milk.. When are you charged £80 for a night in a high standard hotel you would expect better standards than this. As I say we have stayed there numerous times without any issues so are extremely disappointed with this last visit. It would make us think twice about coming back again or recommending the hotel to others.

Heating didn’t work, was told they would turn on fro. Reception and never did. Dirty laundry and pots outside our room on arrival and we’re still there when we left. Noise from guest outside in smoking area horrific till 4am staff taking out cages at 6am so noisy it was like they were in the room! Never stay here if you want to sleep.

The room was very tired and requires lots of TLC. The room was so dark but as we were on the front where people could see us it felt uncomfortable to have the curtains wide open. The room definitely requires a bigger light. There is a Beatles shop below and the music started at 8am which was slightly annoying. Ending on a positive note, the location was great as there’s plenty of bars and restaurants to choose from.

We stayed as we were going to watch Liverpool fc. Location was fab our room was had a great view was very impressive room 206. We loved it! We will definitely be using this hotel again. We didn't eat breakfast as we had to go get the boat home so unfortunately didn't get up on time (our fault)

Our family trip was an unapologetic Beatles Fest and our first visit to Liverpool. Our overriding impression was how lovely and welcoming the people of Liverpool are: Premier Inn staff were no exception. They were friendly and polite and welcoming. So I’m gutted to have to say I was disappointed! Noisy guests next door woke us and kept us awake and although staff responded to my complaint and visited my neighbours, this did not resolve the problem! It would have been nice to have had a follow-up on my complaint. So, being tired and grumpy, I was not very patient when staff forgot to cook my daughter’s veggie sausage at breakfast in time. Lack of a good night’s sleep makes people grumpy. It might even prevent me from returning, which is such a shame. Had all the potential for 5 star review.

The fire safety doors in the hallways woke me up many times during the night, which is why unfortunately I won’t stay here again. It’s a shame because the location is perfect, staff are nice, breakfast was good and bed was comfy. A downside is also the fact that you can’t open the windows. I couldn’t see where any fresh air would come in other than through the slightly untight, old windows. The air con which is a heating at the same time is extremely loud so I decided to leave it off, as the room temperature was okay for me (in February) and the air con would just circulate the existing air anyway while some kind of airing system that brings in actual fresh air would be a lot better. I hope something can be done about the doors and windows as this could be a great place. But sleep and fresh air are essential.

Leaking shower and whistling flush issues raised with the staff but not resolved. Good location for Liverpool One and the docks. Hotel a little tired decor wise in the bedroom. Botched and messy silicone around the bath. Carpet tired and thin.
