Square Tree House

This is a charming B&B within walking distance of the centre of Liverpool, with on street parking and WiFi. We stayed here for two nights whilst visiting an open day at the University of Liverpool and highly recommend this as a great place to stay. John is an excellent host. He provided really useful tips for the local area, including dining recommendations. The rooms are large and very nicely furnished. If you are looking for a travelodge style accommodation - stay elsewhere - this is comfortable, quirky and unique. Breakfast was a good continental style breakfast with coffee/tea, juice, cereals, fresh fruit, yoghurt, cold meats and cold eggs. Hot toast and croissant with jam/honey /Nutella were also provided which gave us all enough options to enjoy.

Very Comfortable & Reasonably priced place to stay,although not Waterfront situated it's right on the Bus route that stops outside the door. Is actually walking distance to lots of the attractions including Waterfront , Cathedrals & the Wonderful Lark Lane. Breakfast was served by John who also is a Mine of Information .

Great, peaceful location, spacious accommodation in the garden-facing room, beautifully furnished, with a sense of grandeur. Parking near or outside the accommodation. A short walk to the nearest bus stop for a 20 minute ride in to the City Centre. A warm welcome from the get-go by the informative and helpful front-of-house John. And not forgetting Fan, his partner. Thankyou Fan and John for making our 4 days in Liverpool such a pleasurable experience.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Square Tree House. Our large room at the top of the house was very comfortable. The bathroom was not en-suite but was right next door, and robes were provided to nip between the 2 rooms. John was a fantastic host, with local recommendations and great stories. The dining room is gorgeous, with a lofty ceiling, period features and tastefully decorated with mid century furniture. Breakfast was a decent mix of fresh fruit, cereals, yogurt, sourdough toast and croissants with decent coffee. The location is great; a short walk to bustling Lark Lane full of bars and restaurants, and a speedy bus ride to the city centre. There’s free parking right outside. Liverpool was great with so much to see and do; we will be back and will definitely return to square tree house- so much nicer than a bland chain hotel and a complete bargain too.

Perhaps biased because run by friends! Just love this place warm and comfortable. Quiet, lovely breakfast and friendly helpful hosts. Thoroughly recommend. Great shower you can control heat on not case in all hotels.

I cannot recommend this lively B&B highly enough! We spent two nights on a university re-union trip that was made all the more delightful by the welcome & personal attention we received from John and his wife. The room was large and comfy and the en suite bathroom a real pleasure to use - everything was decorated and furnished in keeping with the relaxed, funky atmosphere. We walked everywhere fuelled by a generous and delicious breakfast. Thank you so much. Great value, great company, great city.
