Tianmu Lake Seclusive Resort

Came here with my parents. The hotel is small but exquisite, with a limited number of rooms. The butler helped us upgrade to a lake-view room, and my parents were very happy with it. You can take a stroll around the hotel grounds, and it's very close to Bao'en Temple, within walking distance. The butler was also very responsive.

The room type and outdoor views were great, and there's a nice little path for walking around the lake. It's clear the whole place was well-designed, and the hardware facilities are excellent. They even provide Dyson, Appelles, and Duravit toiletries. However, beyond that, there's practically no service to speak of. It's a hotel where the brand's self-positioning doesn't match the quality of service. Entertainment options are virtually non-existent. The hotel is located in quite a remote area, and after dinner time, there are no food or beverage services available. Interacting with the staff felt like talking to robots; the most frequent answers I heard over these two days were "no" or "impossible." When checking out, I thought the room card was pretty nice and cautiously asked if I could keep one (not to mention that hotels of this caliber are usually happy for guests to keep them). The staff member just coldly said "no," and didn't even bother with basic courtesies like 'welcome back' or 'goodbye.' (Interestingly, the cleaning staff were quite friendly and always greeted me.) It really feels like the team quality and attention to detail need significant improvement.

This place is probably empty after Chinese New Year. The afternoon tea they provided, pictured here, was ridiculous for a so-called luxury hotel. The coffee was undrinkable and they couldn't even do latte art. What's even crazier is that the breakfast was worse than a budget hotel. On the second day, there were barely any guests, so there was hardly anything edible. To top it off, the staff were all incredibly arrogant. The hotel beds are very soft, and when I asked if they could add a bed board, the person just told me, 'Then sleep on the sofa!' I had really been looking forward to this, as I booked it for my birthday, but I couldn't even have dinner because they claimed it was limited and chastised me for not booking in advance! Haha, who exactly is this resort for anyway?!

The room was clean and tidy with a super large bed. The courtyard was lovely, and we were very happy to bring our pet. Overall, it was a very satisfying stay with attentive and thoughtful service. The bedding was soft and super comfortable, and the outdoor balcony had amazing natural light with beautiful views of Tianmu Lake right outside the window. The environment was clean and beautiful, healing all our blues. The only minor issue was that pets aren't allowed in the restaurant.

Pretty good. The travel photography was fantastic, definitely a highlight. They also offer bicycles. The environment is very peaceful.

The room was nice, and the direct access to the lake from the courtyard was a big plus. On a nice day, the lobby bar is also a pleasant place to relax. Some details could be improved, such as the litter in the parking lot corner, the quality of the coffee included in the package, and the concierge service – although someone escorted us to our room, guests had to carry their own luggage throughout. However, the package is very good value for money, and overall I would recommend it.

We were upgraded to a lake-view room, which was fully equipped and had a comfortable ceiling height. The hotel environment was quiet, suitable for travelers who prefer a peaceful stay.

Although it's been open for quite some time, it's still very well maintained, and the experience was quite good even during the off-season. The hotel itself is located by the lake, and taking a walk along the lakeside path is very pleasant. The service is also very attentive to requests. Overall, I would recommend staying for two nights to experience it firsthand.
