"I have traveled extensively in many different countries. I'm blessed to be, primarily, a luxury traveler. For me, this was an almost perfect stay. I say almost since the personnel at breakfast really struggled, and we were surprised to return to our room after being gone all day to find the room hadn't been serviced. This was solved when I went to Reception. We could never get through to anyone on our room's phone. Ok, that's the negative. La Borde en Sologne is simply wonderful! Travelers have different preferences. But, we both agreed this may be our favorite hotel experience. For several years, part of our travel is to discover places spontaneously. If someplace looks great, we have no problem driving off the beaten path. This was part of that unplanned travel, found through Tablet Hotels. It was HOT in Europe, almost 40 degrees (over 100 F). The grounds and pool(s) did not disappoint. WE HAD A MOST WONDERFUL, RELAXING DAY at the adult pool. My partner also had what was possibly the best massage he's ever had. An added perk since we imagined the spa would be booked. Drinks were great. My favorite is an icy Brut champagne with peach (a Bellini). Personnel at the bar and at the pool worked it out. Heavenly! We LOVED everything about our Room S1, though a little one was running in the room above us our 2nd morning - early. Our wake-up call! I loved walking around the grounds early morning/evening. The lovely flowers and everything else added to the experience. Jenny at Reception was a joy. Very professional and helpful. I'll be disappointed if I never make it back. Merci!"

"Having stayed at 3 b&b hotels this trip this one is very disappointing reception was closed on arrival the automated screen did not recognise our booking leaving us having to ring for assistance to gain access. The bar did not seem to be open, and was definitely shut at 9 pm not the level of service we have come to expect."

"We have stayed at this hotel often and like going back to it. Beautiful surroundings and very beautiful building. The rooms are large and ours had a small balcony. The staff is tip top. I was rather disappointed with the restaurant, though my husband had a great meal. Had the gravalax which I could not eat tasted raw and way too much. My chicken was dry and the lovely winter veggies were destroyed by an abundance of sauces"

"Very good hotel, the room is big, the hotel is relatively new, the gentleman at the front desk is very enthusiastic. The hotel parking space is free and spacious. There is a pizza shop in front of the hotel, and Aldi supermarket is not far away. It is a 30-minute drive from Chambord Castle, which is a good place for a stopover and rest. The breakfast is average and lacks vegetables."

"The reflection pictures on Ctrip are deceptive. This hotel is on a hillside, very far from the river. How is it possible to be reflected in the river? They must have photoshopped it in. The carpet is dirty. I paid for the room before checking in, but when I checked out, they said I still had 16 or so Euros to pay. It's ridiculous!"
