Astor Museum Hostel Reviews

This is my first time booking a hostel accommodation. And I mistakenly booked the room with 15 beds (bunk beds) with someone snoring heavily in the bed above me, I didn't get much sleep. The bathroom was not very clean as it had brown stains on the walls indicating improper washing and the bottom of the door of the bathroom I used is worn and chipped from water retention, it definitely needs changing. But the toilets were clean and the staff are very lovely and helpful. Definitely not a very good first experience for me but I suppose it fits fine for some others. I don't know if I will be doing a repeat or maybe I'll go for one with 1 or 2 bunk beds next time.

Friendly staff, clean amenities, a great location. Add a good sleep and a tidy kitchen. Value for money to end. No reason not to come back.

My room was in a separate building. The front door of my building needed to be opened by a guy from the other building which was awkward and meant at times that I stayed in instead of going out for a walk or to get breakfast. While the staff were very helpful and friendly I feel this should warranted some kind of gratuity such as a discount. I personally wouldn’t stay here again unless it were discounted. It’s also quite poky and dated inside, and the room was unventilated with stale air. Just a small fan to push air around.

Nice clean hostel with a perfect location. Walking distance to Soho. Nice safe area. Stayed here several times.

Great location

A very cost-effective place to stay near the British Museum. I stayed in a quadruple room. The bathroom and toilet were very clean, no odor, well maintained, and the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was very cheap and was in the hotel kitchen. After eating, we went directly to visit the museum.

It's fairly clean and the space isn't cramped. The beds are made up in advance. The location is excellent, right next to the British Museum. The downsides are that there are no private bathrooms, and it can get noisy when there are many people.
