our sink stopper was stuck so the tap water could not drain and the water ended up overflowing to the floor.

Clean but very basic accommodation. Nothing in the hotel itself but plenty of options just outside the door. Next door to rail and tube station - Proximity of trainline not as noisy as you might think. Was a bit of a weird smell sometimes blowing into the room.

Although in Zone 3, it’s still very convenient and about 30 min to the London city centre. The room is not small and reception is friendly. But they clean the room only upon departure day, so long stay isn’t recommended. Also there’s no Aircond and could be a bit warm during the summer nights

The person at the front desk was nice and let me check in early. It was a shame that the hotel didn't have a hair dryer.

Booked a room with no aircon. It had a fan and no windows that opened. Awful nights sleep like sleeping in an oven

Rooms are spacious and comfortable, a/c in standard rooms would have been a bonus given the weather but fan was welcome. Great staff and friendly every time. Only negative would be the bag of linen stored in the room, at first I thought it was a bean bag upon closer inspection appears to be linen storage, why is this kept the rooms whilst let? 1 time thought oversight but after an extension arrived to find the same bag in a completely different room?

The Travelodge in Balham is conveniently located next to the Railway and Tube station which makes going into Central London very easy. The staff are super friendly and have always a welcoming smile on their faces. The hotel is kept really clean, I highly recommend it!

Despite the fact this was the perfect location for our plans, I am very disappointed with my recent stay at this Travelodge. While the room appeared to have been cleaned, it certainly did not feel clean or well maintained. There were spill marks and stains on the flooring along with numerous chips and scratches throughout the room, giving it a tired and neglected appearance. The biggest issue, however, was the temperature in the room. There was no air conditioning, which I appreciate is common in many Travelodge hotels, but unlike other Travelodge properties I have stayed in, the window in this room did not open at all. This meant there was virtually no fresh air or ventilation, leaving the room unbearably hot and stuffy throughout our stay. When we raised this with reception and asked whether we could upgrade to a room with air conditioning, the receptionist briefly looked at her screen for only a couple of seconds before simply saying there was nothing available. We were instead advised to use a fan and keep the curtains closed. Unfortunately, the fan was ineffective and merely circulated the hot air around the room. We were given a second fan, but this made very little difference. To make matters worse, the curtains did not fully close, allowing the early morning sunlight to stream into the room. Housekeeping had also left the curtains open before our arrival, meaning the room had become extremely hot during the day before we even checked in. The only way we found to improve the airflow while we were in the room was to leave the bedroom door ajar, which is clearly far from an ideal solution. The lack of ventilation also raised a genuine concern about guest safety. As the window did not open and was sealed shut, the only exit from the room was the main door. This made us question what options would be available in the event of a fire or other emergency. I appreciate that hotels must comply with relevant fire safety requirements but as a guest, the lack of any opening window left us feeling uneasy and concerned. The bathroom was clean but equally as disappointing. There was no extractor fan so it quickly became hot and humid after showering. The shower leaked heavily across the floor, and judging by the significant rust on the bottom of the bathroom bin, this appears to have been an ongoing issue that has not been addressed. Although the member of staff who checked us in was polite and friendly, our overall impression of customer service was less positive. Later that evening we witnessed another guest, who was visibly drenched in sweat and clearly struggling with the heat, complaining to reception. The response from staff came across as dismissive and lacking empathy, which was disappointing to observe. Room temperatures during our stay exceeded 28°C, and while this was undoubtedly influenced by the weather, the lack of ventilation made the conditions far worse. I found myself thinking how difficult this would be for elderly guests, young

When booking a Travelodge you know what you’re getting. Our room was right outside the train bridge and on the main road but we didn’t hear a peep. It was spotlessly clean, only downside was, it was really warm in the room. The guy on reception Armando was so lovely and friendly and very polite.
