Travelodge London Central Aldgate East

The room was comfortable & clean. Plenty of choice for breakfast. Staff helpful & pleasant. It’s quite near the tourist area of The Tower of London etc & I was there to visit Tower Hill Memorial of Mercantile losses @ sea are honoured from both World Wars.

It is easy to book

Run down hotel needing renovation. Right next to a railway line with little soundproofing, so if you like being kept awake late by trains and woken up early then this is the place for you.

I would not recommend this travel lodge to anyone.It is shabby and in a terrible location.The hotel and catering staff are polite and efficient,but beware the senior staff are rude, verbally aggressive, unhelpful and refuse to apologise when things have gone badly wrong.Do not pay for late check out..it will be disregarded and your things..documents,credit cards, travel tickets and essential medication will be removed and senior staff will tell you it's your own fault

Everything about the hotel was exceptional. It was clean and roomy with excellent service in where we had dinner. Food was good and great value for money and service was attentive and efficient. Friendly & Accommodating Staff (tulasi) willing to help with a smile.

The food provided by Karim was excellent and served promptly with a smile .😁👍🍧🍗.We had not intended to have breakfast but now intend to. Hu

Expect a basic/consistent level of satisfaction from Travelodge but was disappointed. Tatty hotel in need of some serious TLC. Nearby rail line wasn’t the noise issue experienced but cars/people gathering on street at front of location playing music and talking late night/early hours of morning.

This hotel is so bad that I'd only advise booking a room if you're planning to end it all. On arrival, the booked room type wasn't available, so was given a single bed cell between lift and railway tracks (trains start a little after 4 and stop quite late at night and the whole building shakes). Lower floors have the plumbing from upper floors passing through their bathrooms, so any time another guest flushes, you hear whatever they've deposited slosh down the pipes, lights aren't all working and staff (who are lovely, and just as trapped in this hell-ride as guests) are almost powerful to fix anything due to the way Travelodge deliberately overbooks and outsources basic maintenance tasks. This horrid travel experience was brought to me by Clarity Travel Management, a firm who claim to employ "travel experts" and should have known how bad this was before making the booking... but didn't because they're just a late-90's style web-portal that passes data backwards and forwards with other online booking portals.
