The lift is not working when I arrived! No message to inform me. I am a person travelling alone and having some sort of disability. And they gave me the top 4th fooor room! I want to change the room and they said NO ROOM! My friend help me to carry up the luggage. And the front desk said will help me when I check out. When I call them, they say he can’t bla bla bla. And finally he sent cleaning lady to help me. No more this hotel

Room is in good and clean condition. It is good place for short stay. Room provided was quiet as request . Breakfast is in sufficient quantity. Everything has been great until one dodgy customer knocked on our room door. He was verbally abusive and attempted to enter our room. I nearly call police and hotel management team to arrest him. He is clearly not right in his mind. Alexandra Hotel can contact me for further details about this incident.

Very convenient location. Decent stay with en-suite bathroom and clean room. Proximity to main roads may make nights a bit noisy, but very close to Paddington station. Breakfast was simple - unlimited hard boiled eggs were a plus.

The hotel was extremely conveniently located near to Paddington station. The reception staff were very polite and helpful and I can't fault them. The room I was in was small, but had comfortable single beds and a very compact but clean bathroom, which was perfectly serviceable. Towels and sheets were clean and fresh and there was plenty of soap, shower gel / shampoo and toilet roll. There was a courtesy tea tray with tea, coffee, and sugar and small milk portions. The room was however very dated, and the bedspreads in the looked like they'd possibly come out of the 1990s. One part of the building was 4 or 5 floors and my colleague was staying there on the highest floor. There was a lift on that side, which was marked as out of order and looked like it had been out of order for a very long time! I'm not sure whether they maintain the lift at all, and there were a lot of stairs to the top! Our second room at the top of the building had an even smaller shower room, again clean, but badly in need of updating. It was extremely hot weather and we chose this hotel specifically because it was advertised on Trivago and then Trip.com with air conditioning. This turned out to be incorrect. The receptionist at the hotel knew nothing about air conditioning and said the rooms didn't have it and said that that wasn't their information on the listing. When we got to the rooms there was a fan, which was quite efficient, but not a match for the heat. It was supposed to have a remote, but that was missing and it was extremely uncomfortable in the hot weather. Breakfast was included in the stay, but was very poor quality, with low-quality croissants and bread, and one staff member coughing over the toasting machine and serving area without covering their mouth. I don't believe the staff member should have been at work and nobody seemed to notice or be bothered. The jam was good, but yoghurts were served in a stack carton package and were not refrigerated. There was also ham and cheese slices. If it hadn't been for the extreme heat then it would have been an okay stay for a lower amount of money than the area generally charges, and the hotel was in a very convenient location. It does definitely need some work and updating though ... and there is definitely no air conditioning! It would be nice if Trip.com took some notice of this information and updated the listing to accurately portray what's at the hotel. If the hotel genuinely didn't know about this, then it's very unfair to the hotel for trip.com to be misleadingly advertising their property. We've noticed this on other listings with Trip.com as well. Facilities that are advertised do not exist at the properties, so they need to be a bit more careful where they scrape their data and check it with the property owners.

Amazing

The hotel is good for the price, and the location is easily accessible as it is within three underground railway stations in Paddington. It would be nice if there is an AC in the room but if there is no heatwave, there shouldnt be a problem. ;) Overall it is a great hotel if you arent posh.

A few steps away from the major train Paddington and tube station. Close to Hyde Park. Lots of restaurants around.

Very disappointing experience. On the second day of our stay, we had an unpleasant interaction with the night-shift check-in desk staff, who were rude and disrespectful. Their attitude completely ruined our trip and left us feeling unwelcome.

Overall, we had a pleasant stay. The room was comfortable for the two of us, and both the bed and pillows were very comfortable. Breakfast was included, and I especially loved the English breakfast. The only downside was that there was no lift, so we had to use the stairs, which could be inconvenient when carrying luggage. My husband also felt that the bathroom was a bit too small for him. The location is definitely the biggest advantage of this hotel. It is very close to Paddington Station, making it easy to get around London by train, tube, or bus. There are also plenty of eateries nearby, including McDonald's, KFC, Western food restaurants, takeaway shops, and souvenir stores. Overall, there is not much to complain about. Great location, comfortable stay, and good value for money. We would consider staying here again.

The transportation is very convenient, and the room being on the first floor is great because we didn't have to climb any stairs.

The room was a bit small but very clean. The location is excellent, super close to both the subway and train stations, making it really convenient for getting around. There are supermarkets and many restaurants, like Italian restaurants, right near the hotel, so dining is easy. It's also not far from Hyde Park and Kensington Palace.

Very affordable option for the location, you get what you pay for. Clean and tidy, quick and easy check in. Ideal for a place to rest your head for a few hours, but wouldn’t spend time there beyond sleeping as it is just a stop over location. Very conveniently located right by Paddington Station and did the job. Windows aren’t very sound proof, so can hear outside noises, but not enough to disturb you once asleep (depending on how light a sleeper you are). Can’t comment on the breakfast as had to check out before breakfast started. Did ask if there was anything they could do (eg a bag of things) but this wasn’t an option so missed out on the breakfast although it was part my booking. However, overall great value and no complaints - would use again for a short, affordable basic option for somewhere to stay.

The duvet was a bit thin, but when I mentioned it to the front desk, they promptly brought an extra blanket. The service was excellent, and the location is very convenient for transportation.

Great location, just a 5-10 minute walk from Paddington Station or Lancaster Gate tube station. Plenty of amenities nearby, including a greengrocer, pharmacy, and McDonald's. The shower in my room was a bit dirty, but I honestly didn't mind at all.
