Zedwell Piccadilly Circus

Overall, my stay at Zedwell Piccadilly Circus was practical, and the room design suits travellers from Asia who prefer simplicity and efficiency. However, there are several areas that need improvement to enhance the overall guest experience. The hotel should consider providing refillable drinking water or water dispensers on each floor. With more than 700 rooms, it is surprising that such a basic amenity is not available, especially for long‑haul travellers who rely on easy access to drinking water. The beauty room being limited to Level 3 is also inconvenient, particularly for female guests who need to take the lift to another floor just to get ready. It would be much more practical to make this facility available on every floor. Additionally, the hotel would benefit from offering an ironing room and a laundry room, which are standard in many hotels catering to international travellers. At the moment, the facilities feel too basic. The hotel should also revise the checkout time from 10am to 12pm. Most hotels allow guests to check out at 12pm, and the earlier checkout time here feels unnecessarily restrictive, especially for travellers recovering from long flights or adjusting to time differences. Due to these limitations, I would not consider recommending this hotel to my friends or family.

Nothing like how it looked on the photos at all. No staff to help me when I went upstairs bedrooms looked nothing like shown on the photos, beds had wheels on them and constantly moved about. They were extremely uncomfortable. Missing towel, missing amenities etc. don’t recommend. I ended up with 2 hours sleep before a 5 hour journey home.

The prices are on the higher end, but based on our experience, it was definitely not worth it. Firstly, we requested a king-sized bed and a room near the elevator. However, we were given two single beds and a room at the very end of the corridor. We asked for a room change, which was granted. Upon entering the new room, we immediately noticed there was no toilet paper in the bathroom and that the bath towels were limited. Since these are basic necessities, we went downstairs to request them. We were told they would be brought to our room, but after half an hour, nothing had arrived. We then messaged them on WhatsApp but did not receive an immediate response. After waiting some more, we went down again and ended up getting the items ourselves. They only replied six hours later. As for the bed itself, it was okay. However, I doubt the bed frames are properly cleaned, as there were visible dirty spots. Like many other reviews mention, the room is very small (“cocoon-style”), with no chairs, desks, or additional amenities. This wasn’t an issue for us since we were prepared and brought our own hair dryer. The location was perfect, which was probably the only positive aspect of our stay.

You stay here for the location and it absolutely delivers. The rooms are spotless and thoughtfully minimal. But minimal is the key word. No window, no extras, just the basics done well. Even the hairdryer is in a communal room. For a short London trip where you’re barely indoors, it’s a smart choice. Just don’t expect boutique luxury, this is efficient, central and clean.

When booking this hotel you known it’s not going to be the Ritz so this review is fair for the type of hotel. The location is super central yet the hotel is a zen of calm. It’s a little strange having no windows anywhere but the design works to minimise the effect. Rooms are what you expect, incredibly simple but clean and decent bathroom with toiletries and fresh towels. Decent wifi means you don’t miss a TV and this is not a hotel for lounging, it’s a bed for the night which is comfy enough if a little low to the ground. The gym is an additional fee which the website doesn’t make super clear - £10 a day. Despite the positives, the bedding was bad! Blood stained sheets and bed bugs! I was biten all over during the night and awoke to dozens of red blotches all over my body. It really puts me off returning despite everything else. It is good value for money but you don’t expect bed bugs!

We stayed in a 3 person cocoon for 5 nights, and it was such a good deal. Amazing location, steps away from Piccadilly Circus and a stone’s throw from Regent Street and Chinatown. We walked almost everywhere we wanted to go! The room is super clean but very basic, with no kettle or any other amenities in the room. However, there’s a shared space in the basement for remote working and Beauty Rooms (for hairdryers and better lighting for makeup). Overall, a great deal for the price point and location. 10/10 would definitely stay again the next time I visit London!
