Where to start. Checkin was fine, but as soon as I got to the room, it was very apparent that the bathroom had not been cleaned well. There were hairs in the shower, hairs on the floors and one in the sink. There was also fresh foundation marks right above the sink. The sheets were also ripped in some points and the towels were all outdated and ruined.
I then told reception a few hours later that the AC was clearly not working as the room was at least 5 degrees warmer than the reception area, to which the woman at reception came up to the room and argued with me claiming it was actually working. The AC fan-coil unit was clearly very cold, but it was not pushing the air out of it - thus making it de-facto not working. I made her literally go outside the room and come back in to prove the obvious change in temperature but she still insisted. She was very rude.
Thankfully, the other members of staff were better and the man doing the night hours admitted to the AC not working and gave me a fan.
Housekeeping doesn’t come before 1 pm. The only positive note was the italian lady at checkout who kindly granted me a late checkout, that was a nice gesture that was appreciated.
The Rockwell was definitely better priced than pretty much any other option, but the hotel is DEFINITELY a 3 star. It doesn’t come close to being a 4 star in both room standards and furniture, cleanliness or service. Overall I’d say a disappointing experience.
