Strand Palace

The service was very good and employees were kind and helped. The breakfast had a wide variety of meat, eggs, pastry, fruits, oatmeal, cereal, drinks and more although I'd prefer more meat options. The gym is small for the hotel size and equipment is lacking.

I had the most hospitable stay which made my first trip to London extremely memorable. The location is perfect for anyone who love to go for musicals. It is near the Covent Garden theatres. The nearby bus stops and Tube have routes to go to many attractions in London. Thanks Abdullah for helping with the check-in process, along with sharing tips for travelling in London. Also grateful to Anthony for helping me with my bags and getting me a cab when I checked out. It's a place that I would love to return to on my next trip to London.

We were in London to see The Lion King and had a room on the 5th floor with lovely views. The Lyceum Theatre is about one minute walk away! Making this hotel the best one to use if you’re going to the theatre too. I’m an ambulatory wheelchair user which means so long as there’s a lift and step free access I can use any room. As we were staying overnight we wouldn’t be showering so I didn’t need an accessible bathroom. (Don’t worry, there are accessible rooms to use should that be your requirement.) The room and bedding were clean. The complimentary mini bar was a nice touch! As was the slippers and robes. The only negative was that we’d booked for 3 people but the room only catered for two. Teo robes, 2 pairs of slippers. Two waters, 2 colas, no bedding and pillows for the fold out bed that the 3rd person would be using. I did check the wardrobe where you’d usually find the extra bedding but there wasn’t any in there. I did use the in room telephone to call reception and they sent a duvet up but no pillow. By now we were too exhausted to be calling back and just made do with what we had. My wrap folded, made for a makeshift comforter on one of the very firm sofa cushions.. Overall we had a really good time. The TWO refillable water bottles were and water stations within the hotel were excellent! Oh and we had pizza and fries from room service Excellent quality food! All staff I spoke to were polite and efficient! Very much recommended! (The photo shows where I plugged in my Quickie Q500m to charge overnight. And my boys enjoying the chocolate, fudge and biscuits!)

We booked this hotel due to its proximity to the theatre we were going to. It wasn’t the best time due to the thousands of protestors and the FA Cup Final but from inside the hotel you wouldn’t know anything was going on outside. The protestors were literally walking straight past as we arrived. The staff were all happily getting on with their work making us as comfortable as possible. We upgraded our room and it was already ready. We were very happy with all the complimentary tea/coffee and biscuits. Everything we needed was there including hairdryer, ironing board and iron. Inside the room and all around the hotel was impeccably clean and all the staff were extremely helpful and smiley! Our friend has a mobility scooter and again the hotel was very accommodating especially in the restaurant. You would be very surprised how many hotels are not equipped nor have suitable awareness of someone’s needs in this situation. Will definitely return to The Strand Palace

Good place to.stay for theater lol ets

Overpriced and certainly not “Superior” We stayed at the Strand Palace expecting a much higher standard considering the price and reputation of the hotel. Unfortunately, the experience was disappointing. The “Superior” Room Please don’t call a room “Superior” when it’s the size of a shoebox. The room was incredibly small and certainly didn’t feel superior in any way. Even the television was so tiny that you practically needed binoculars to watch it from the bed. Water Dripping From the Ceiling Outside our room there was a bucket on the floor collecting water that was dripping from the ceiling. Seeing this in a hotel charging these prices really doesn’t give the impression of a premium establishment. Poor Bar Service We went to have a drink in the restaurant/bar and approached the bar to order. A member of staff specifically told us not to order at the bar because a waiter would come over and take our order. We then sat waiting for around 10 minutes . If you’re going to tell customers they can’t order their own drinks and must wait for table service, then you need to actually provide the table servicei in adequate time The Price The price for one night was extortionate for what we received. I appreciate that this is a prime central London location, but location alone doesn’t justify these prices when the room, facilities and service don’t match the standard you’d expect. Overall For me, the Strand Palace felt like a glorified hotel charging a huge premium because of its location and name recognition. A “Superior” room should actually feel superior, the building shouldn’t have buckets catching water from the ceiling, and guests shouldn’t be left sitting around after specifically being told to wait for service. Great location? Absolutely. Good value for money? Definitely not.
