Booking made with *********** Arrived 21:00 to find a notice on the door that check in closed at 20:00. Upon finally gaining access I was told by the “manager” that they had tried to contact me during the day (they hadn’t) and hence had cancelled my room without notice. I was left stranded by myself in central London. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour and it seems they have history of doing this looking at other reviews.

It’s true when they say “you get what you pay for”, although in this case you would at least expect basic amenities to be working.. a shower with no holder and blocked drain, topped off with the fact that the kettle plug wouldn’t reach the socket unless you used it off the floor, really did really set the tone for the room. Staff were polite and the location is great, but not much else can be said.

I booked a room through *********** at a certain rate, and was informed this morning by the hotel that the price was incorrect, and that I had to respond within two hours to confirm the new pricing or else I would lose the reservation. This is high season; the hotel canceled my reservation because they realized they could charge a higher price. What a scam. Cannot believe business practices like this are allowed to exist in the UK.

It was a good Experience for me. Location wise its very convenient, they have complimentary coffee and tea self service 24/7 which is okay and some cookies which is good. My room is located at the basement, for the price of it is very reasonable,i leave the back door open at night and cold breeze is coming inside which is good. Bed is nice sleeping like a baby. And the room is dark when the light is off which i love. I will recommend it for my Friends for a good price and clean and good location. Sylvia who works as a front desk is very Accomodating. Koodos for the team. Thank you and see you for the future booking.

Absolute waste of money rooms tiny tv has no picture the door on room 21 won’t look so your venerable to getting robbed as the key pad on the front door has only 4 number visible prints to the key code 🤷🏼 can’t complain about how clean it was until all the blood behind the door second time of stayed here the first was fine in the basement. But avoid room 21 on 2nd floor😱

It's in a great location, and the perfect price for 2 nights stay. What let's the hotel down is as follows...poor upkeep of the room, too many stairs, I was on the 4th floor, and there is no lift available, staff only available between 3.00am to 8.00pm,

This hotel is not suitable for those with mobility problems. We were on the 4th floor and its a whopping 89 steps. There is a floor above also. My husband and I stayed in this hotel for 2 nights. We found the hotel OK. It does not advertise itself to be something it is not. Our room was clean and quite large. With one large double bed and one single bed. The beds a very hard so if you do not like hard beds then this isn't the hotel for you. There was a TV with free view channels and free WiFi. The room we had was on the 4th floor. It was around 18ft x 15 ft with a bathroom of around 6ft x 6ft. The shower was great. Quite powerful and stayed at a nice temp. The hotel is very loud. You can hear everyone in the rooms above you and below you walking around as the floorboards make a very load creaking sound. There is a kettle, microwave, iron with ironing board, hairdryer, fridge, and an alarm clock in the room. However there are no cups or spoons in the room to make tea or coffee, so I'm unsure what the kettle was for. When checking in we were told there was a little communal room for tea and biscuits also (although again there was no cups or spoons in that room to make tea with). There is no smoking in the rooms. There is a back garden area for smokers. I would not stay here again, only because of how loud the hotel was with people moving around, as I'm a light sleeper I was awake alot. However for a budget friendly no frills stay in London this hotel is perfectly fine. Although if I had an issue I'm not sure what I would have done as there are no staff here. Only between 3pm-8pm.

My bed was a bouncy castle, making sleep extremely fitful and elusive, especially given I had to share the bed with my travel companion, who also was bounced around by it all night. The room was amazingly small and squashed, and the fit and finish in need of a revamp. While the shower was fine, the bathroom it was squeezed into was very poky. I also was frustrated by the receptionists’ poor English and had no confidence I could leave my luggage there all day in safekeeping. These no-frills places are categorically not worth it; save up and spend more and something that passes basic standards

I work in London two days a week and stay in whatever Hotel room (with attached bathroom) is the cheapest place available each time. Usually this leads me to some absolute dumpster fires, (Shepherds Bush) but also some better places, Bayswater is good but can be pricey, for example. The Paramount Hotel has been a bit of a game changer, for 2/3 the price of Bayswater or Hyde Park (and to be fair, sometimes half the price) you get a comfortable bed, small but not tiny rooms, decent water pressure & temperature and toiletries. Located just a 7 minute walk from the District Line and a 5 minute walk from Tesco Extra. Yes the bathrooms can be a bit on the cramped side but I have stayed in places with much smaller bathrooms (Hyde Park I'm looking at you). Ultimately you aren't staying at the Four Seasons or the Fairmont so don't expect glamour but you'll find far worse in London for a lot more money. If you find this place sub £75, book it.
