We stayed at this hotel as somewhere to sleep whilst we did some family trips in London. What made the hotel stand out for us was the staff. Unfortunately we were one of the last to come down for breakfast and the kids had set their hearts on croissants. They hotel had run out though and they were a bit disappointed as there wasn’t much else they fancied. One of the waitresses however came out with her own personal croissant that she had put back for her breakfast and gave it to my daughter. That was way above and beyond and so kind. Thank you so much!

This was such a comfortable stay! The room was small but the layout meant I had plenty of room to store my overnight bag and toiletries etc; Although it was on a main road and my room was directly over the front door I wasn’t disturbed by any noise at all. I was most impressed by the friendly welcome. Informed about breakfast but not pressured to book, and lots of smiles etc when I headed out in the evening. There was even a sign in the bathroom saying to let them know if you’d forgotten any essentials and they’d provide them with their compliments! Budget accommodation that’s well located, comfortable and reasonably priced. I’d stay again!

We stayed here for one night on Tuesday 20th Feb in rooms 302 & 306. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Old Street station - you turn right just passed the Sainsburys local shop and it is just around the corner. We checked in around 4pm - the 2 members of staff who checked us in were very polite, friendly and helpful. The rooms were a very good size with a huge TV opposite the bed and a seating area with fridge and 2 bottles of complimentary water in the room. The shower room was a good size and the shower was a double unit so plenty of room to move with a rain shower and a hand held attachment which could be taken off the wall. There is good quality shower gel, shampoo and conditioner in the shower and handwash and body wash by the sink. There is a hairdryer and iron/ironing board in the room. Tea & coffee is also provided. The double bed was very comfortable with high quality bed linen Breakfast was included - there was plenty of choice. Cereals, fresh fruit, yogurt, muffins, croissants, bread, jams, marmalade, orange or apple juice, selection of teas and coffee. The hot selection included bacon. beans, eggs, sausage, mushrooms and tomato and was all very tasty. Cannot fault the service at this hotel and it is all spotless. Check in was very efficient. The room card is required to use the lift from the ground floor - this did seem to be a bit hit and miss and sometimes we had to scan it 4 or 5 times before it worked.

We always stay at the Lion & Key when we visit London and have been fortunate enough to stay here again in October, December, and also January for my husbands 80th birthday. This really is the ”Savoy” of the small hotels in London and we always know without fail, we will have the most perfect stay. All the staff genuinely care about their guests having the best experience and you cannot fault the care and attention to detail that this hotel takes to ensure an excellent customer experience. They have a great team of which we would like to thank Giorgio, Kanti and Stephania for making all our visits a home away from home. The rooms and also public areas in the hotel are kept pristinely clean and are bright and cheerful. I love the attention to detail this hotel has even with the smallest thing. i.e. the shower cap in the bathroom also has a small hairband in the box ,which is excellent if you have long hair and can’t find your own! The beds are also extremely comfortable and we both always have an excellent night sleep. We love the open kitchen where you can see all the food being freshly prepared and cooked to order. They are very generous with their breakfast time which doesn’t end until 12 o’clock lunchtime. The choice and range that they offer in their restaurant, regardless of breakfast or main meals throughout the day would accommodate even the most fussiest eaters, which I am, but even I am extremely spoilt for choice as the breakfast menu is so comprehensive. The quality of the ingredients used in the restaurant is first class and so is the time and care in presentation which also reflects the pride that they take. We can honestly say that the breakfast’s we have at the L&K are the most tastiest, freshest, consistently perfect breakfast’s we have ever had and far exceed the quality that we have experienced over the years in 4 & 5 star hotels. To be honest, we often wonder how they continuously provide such care and attention to detail for the customer, even more so since Covid as many many hotels and restaurants seem to still use this as an excuse for a less than perfect service or menu range. We must’ve had over 100 of breakfasts since we have been coming here in 2018 and the eggs are always perfectly cooked with a lovely orange yolk, regardless of whether it’s a normal full English breakfast, or my husbands favorite the Egg Royale. We very rarely eat sausages or bacon at home, but the quality and taste of the ones here are amazing, so we always, always enjoy our breakfast which set us up for exploring all day. The transport links to this hotel are excellent as well. There are four buses that go past the hotel to Leyton underground, one of which is running 24 hours and they seem to come by every few minutes. Stratford is only four stops from Leyton so excellent connections for overground, DLR, O2 etc. Liverpool Street is the next stop along for even more connections so the location we find is a great asset to wherever we

I turned up ready to put my legs up and rest before my early morning train. I was not looking for anything special but there is basic and then there is this! I was originally put in LG5 and told to go up the stairs, along the corridor and down the stairs. I followed the instructions but, not only could I not find the room, neither could a member of staff. Another one told me to go back along the corridor, up some stairs and down some stairs. I got to the staircase at the end of the corridor and it was blocked by piles of laundry and laundry bags! I went back to the reception desk and explained that neither myself nor staff could find the room. He agreed to give me a different one (a nicer one he said!) and said to go up the stairs and the room was on the right. He didn’t, however, give me a room number. I then started trying to get into the room on the right, then the next room on the right, then the next room on the right before I came up and went back to reception once again! He told me my room number and off I went again. I opened the room door to find a bed with no pillows or duvet and no bigger than a cupboard. I shut the door and headed back to the reception. I explained that I was not staying in that room and before I could explain why, he asked, “is it not clean?!” I explained that not only was it not clean, there were no facilities. He then snapped, “so, you just want to cancel this booking? Fine!” The carpets in the corridors were filthy, the staff couldn’t care less if they tried and the room was beyond basic. I left and booked the premier inn. Much better!

Bermonds Locke is the nicest hotel I have ever stayed in. Would highly recommend for anyone getting on it. Holly is an absolute gem and she will sort you right out. Holly is pictured. Great value for money. Love a bath when I wake up in this hotel.

The environment is very good and very quiet. Just a few minutes walk from the archway subway station. There are a lot of convenience stores and supermarkets. There are tableware beds in the room. It is very comfortable at night. The hotel is very quiet and too noisy. It will be fined. The air conditioning sound is a bit big but it doesn't go to Euston. The train station subway is also close to four people living together, the price is very high, the upper and lower floors, the front desk service is not bad, next time you come to London to play, you will be here.

After reading the reviews after booking the hotel I was apprehensive about our visit. Myself and my younger sister (19+12) stayed one night when visiting the Emirates Stadium for an ****nal game. The location was great, with a 10 minute walk to the Emirates, shops nearby and Finsbury Park tube station also being a 10 minute walk with easy access to Euston station. Anna was lovely and welcoming, allowing us to store our bags the next day while going to the match even after checking out and the room was lovely and clean. the kitchen and bathroom was spacious and spotless and the bedroom, although not massive, was big enough for what we needed and everywhere was clean and modern. The free wifi was amazing and very fast, as was checking in. We had some problems with our room card not working but Anna sorted this out for us immediately without problem. For the price and location this was a great find and we would definitely stay again - ignore the negative reviews! We had some small problems, but not enough to cause an issue. The only problems that occurred were washing being left within our room after check in - but again, after mentioning this to Anna she sorted it out right away! We visited in January but the room was very warm, leading us to sleeping with the air-con on - just be aware of this before packing warm PJs! The hotel walls seemed to be very thin, we could hear people coming upstairs and talking in their room - but again, for the price and quality of the hotel, this can easily be overlooked and is perfect for a short stay! Such a Great Location & the Staff is Amazing! It’s located right next to Kings Cross & Coal Drop Yards which is convenient. Check in is simple & they even let you leave your luggage for free if you get their early & after your check out. The staff is so kind, to the front desk, Maintenance, Cleaning Crew & Management. I love how the beds you can change the color of the Lighting. There are plugs for your phone & a locker to store your stuff. Also a bar to hang socks or a Towel. They have a huge lounge area where you can chill or work & a kitchen. Pretty big kitchen, great way to save $ while traveling! Bathrooms are always clean & always hot water. They have events throughout the week which is great for connecting with new people. You can tell the staff is like family here & genuine souls! Definitely suggest checking out this Hostel when traveling to London! My next trip into London, I’ll definitely be staying here. 💚
