"Very close to the airport with a free shuttle service, and the driver helped with our luggage. The room facilities are a bit old, especially the bathtub in the bathroom, but the cleanliness was good. The front desk staff's attitude was so-so, but they did give us the quiet room we requested. We stayed one night after arriving late, making it convenient to pick up a rental car the next day. Overall, it's pretty good value for money. There were a lot of airline crew members staying there, which made it feel very safe."

"I would be happy to stay in this hotel again. The rooftop looks great and it has a swimming pool! Definitely to enjoy if I had more time to stay. It is walking distance to the Hall of Fame so it is practical for tourists. Around the hotel I didn't see plenty of food options. The room is great, cozy. At night there was some party (I think there is some club next door and it was Friday) so at times the sound was very vivid; it didn't stop me to sleep though. It has a small gym but looks better than many other hotels I have been. I received an email before the check-in to do a pre-checkin and I was asked to input my card details. I am not sure why if when you arrive to the hotel they ask for your card again."

"Hotel is close to little tokyo, grand central, the broad. Plenty of restaurants around. City hall and other government buildings are nearby. Room is clean. Free chocolate chip cookies, which are one of the yummiest. Toiletries are provided. But we were only given 2 bottled water for our 5 night stay. They don’t have electric kettle and for us who need to drink warm water every morning is a big inconvenience. Luckily we booked a bigger room and it has microwave oven. It’s an old hotel so the room and the bathroom need some renovation but the cleaning lady did her best to make the room clean and tidy."

"The Hotel is near the Grand Central Market and two metro stations like Pershing Square. The Staff were very friendly and helpful with check-in and with other questions. The Hotel itself has a very unique and modern touch to it. Our room was very comfortable and it was cleaned every day."

"I have stayed here for many years and always had an exceptional experience from Lynda at the front desk to Clay, the GM, Courtney, the Room Director and the entire Team. Clearly a well trained group! Great location, several restaurants within a block. Wonderful lobby, conductive to working. My only complaint is the Resort Fee which is unwarranted given it’s a business hotel and it is not necessary- just another fee that so many hotels are unfairly charging. Hopefully it will stop soon as an unneeded additional fee to the Customer."

"It was only a short stay for one day after my late night flight, and I left at around 6am for the further sightseeing. Location is great, not really far from the metro station (around 10mins walk) which is on the same line as Union Station. Not far from all the touristy spots (central library, walt disney music hall, central library, central market...etc) in downtown, all walking distance! It's located in a building with elevator, with a pool (unfortunately I didn't have chance to check it) and the staff is super helpful and friendly! Room is nice, not big very pretty functional, and there is a shared bathroom in the room. Overall this was a very great experience with the price! Highly recommended to those travellers with budgets."

"The flight was delayed and I checked in late, but they were very kind and the cleanliness of the room was very satisfactory as it was just opened. We are both very sensitive to cleanliness, but it was so good during our stay :) If you hang your ticket, you will clean your room every day, there are many Korean restaurants around, and there is a H-Mart nearby, so it was convenient! During my stay, I met a staff member at the front desk for about 4 minutes, but they were all friendly and I think they will remain a pleasant memory!! Late at night, the surroundings are quiet, so it can be a little dangerous, but it's a great location if you're not completely late! Highly recommended !!! 👏👍"

YYC008Here's why we gave the experience 3 stars; First of all, when we booked the hotel, neither Trip.com nor The Aster, Los Angeles, mentioned anything about the rooftop being closed on the dates we booked. On May 13 and May 14, we stayed in room 3 0 6. The hotel pictures showed and bragged about having a rooftop and plenty of pics of people there, and nowhere was revealed anywhere on their website or Trip.com that would not be available on those dates. When we reached out to Trip.com, they pretty much said that the rooftop amenities weren't listed as part of our package. Really Trip.com? You have to list the rooftop as the amenity... Got it. That was so lame a response. Everyone knows people book due to the pictures, and this was a seriously lame response from the Trip.com customer support personnel. We decided to save our opinion for this review. The Aster had nice people, but it's hard to believe the availability missing on their website is a detail they would miss. Their hotel has impeccable detail and design. One can only surmise they conveniently left out the information because people would obviously not book there and go somewhere else. I told the front receptionist this as we were checking in. She mentioned, well, it said it on *******. But we didn't book through *******, we booked through Trip.com. And those specific details were not evident. After July 1st the Government is getting stricter on transparency with hotels having to mention things so we missed this window, but we're happy to hold hotels like The Aster accountable:-) Also, on Wednesday, we checked out, and they had a fire alarm drill test that lasted about 10 minutes. They forgot to mention another minor ”inconvenience” when we booked on their website. It was at 10 am. It wasn't so bad, but to state the obvious, they left out the ability for customers to decide by not making that information transparent during the booking process. It's not like the fire department or tech people didn't schedule that in advance. 1. If you book through Trip.com, please make sure you specify, call their customer support, and get it in writing. The clickbait and pictures seem shady and sketchy and reflect a lack of credibility in the process. 2. Trip.com asked which room we wanted to be in. When we picked the room, we picked the city-view balcony. But we got put in the poolside view instead. It wasn't bad, but that was missing in the booking details that Trip.com sent to The Aster. My fiance ended up being okay with the poolside view, but it should have been in the booking details via Trip.com. So please, please make sure you watch this if you book through them and call the hotel in advance. Lastly, the decor, valet, and, in general, the service people were very nice and thoughtful. We would give them 5 stars.

ZZoeVHOur experience at this hotel was extremely mixed. I’ll list the good points first, and then mention issues we had, as they were quite significant. Pros: The location was great, close to the airport (about a 12 minute drive) and also right next to a huge mall with a Target and many restaurants, several grocery stories, Starbucks, etc. Super convenient for flying in/out of LAX and also getting around various locations in LA. The aesthetics of the lobby are generally nice and it seems like it’s been renovated recently. There’s also free (and delicious) chocolate chip cookies in the lobby around 5:30 each evening. The front desk staff are generally helpful and responsive. Finally, to the cons: Most of our gripes are related to the hotel’s housekeeping service. The housekeeping service at this hotel was the worst I have ever experienced. We constantly had to call and ask for basic necessities the weren’t replenished: no wash clothes or hand towels, no bedding for the couch bed, several times they failed to take the very full trash out, etc. Worst perhaps of all was how they never changed the paper, ice biner, or glass cups in the room. We used the glasses on the first night of our stay, the next day they took one of the dirty glasses and left the other, never giving us cleans ones or taking the dirty glass for the entirety of our 5 day stay (see photo). They also didn’t replenish the paper coffee cups. At the end of our stay we shared our dissatisfaction with the front desk manager over the poor housekeeping services and she was very understanding and apologetic and there was any way she could make it up to us, which was very appreciated.

Dining and getting gas were both very convenient. There's a large, free parking lot. The front desk service was excellent. The buffet restaurant is also quite spacious, though hotel breakfasts in this region are generally like this: no vegetables and cold milk. Hot water and coffee are available, however. Outside the lobby, there's a small, beautiful courtyard – a pleasant spot to relax for a bit. A gym is also located nearby. The only minor downside is that the room was quite small, feeling a bit cramped. However, it was well-equipped and very clean.

It's a mere 10-minute drive away, which made it incredibly convenient for someone like me who had to catch an early morning flight. The hotel also provides a free shuttle service to and from the airport, which was a nice touch. The check-in process was efficient, and the staff at the front desk were courteous and welcoming. The lobby area is clean, modern, and well-designed, creating a favorable first impression. I stayed in a standard room, and it was clean and well-maintained. The bed was comfortable, and I appreciated the extra pillows provided. The room had a decent view and was adequately spacious for a solo traveler. The bathroom was also clean and stocked with the necessary amenities. One of the highlights of my stay was the on-site restaurant, The Bistro. The food was surprisingly good, and they offered a variety of options for breakfast and dinner. The staff at the restaurant were attentive and provided excellent service. However, I found the prices a bit on the higher side. The fitness center was well-equipped, and I was able to maintain my workout routine during my stay. The only option was valet parking, which wasn’t made clear in advance. Finding the entrance was confusing, and once we finally did, we learned valet was mandatory at $63 per day. The valet staff were very friendly, but I prefer the flexibility to park and access my car on my own schedule. There was a nearby hotel offering parking for $40/day, but the back-and-forth logistics made that option impractical. The room itself was stylish and well-kept but extremely small with minimal privacy. I was traveling with kids for a cheer competition, so we had a lot of gear, and there just wasn’t enough space. The room only had a small table under the TV, a few nightstands, and a bench—no real space for extra luggage or to move around comfortably. The layout was tight, especially between the bed and furniture. The bathroom setup was a major downside. There was no separate bathroom area—just a shower and toilet with no full wall or door for privacy. With a group of young girls in the room, this made things really awkward, especially when I wasn’t feeling well and needed a private space. There was no fan or door to close off the bathroom area completely, which was a big issue. While the room was clean overall, I did notice dust in some areas—on the top shelves, above the fridge, and on the showerhead. I always do a wipe-down when I check in, and while the floors and surfaces were generally clean, those harder-to-reach spots had been missed. There also weren’t enough hooks or space to hang and organize clothing or gear. Overall, the cleanliness and staff were great, but the lack of space, privacy, and clear parking info really took away from the experience. Because of the room layout alone, I wouldn’t choose this hotel again—especially when traveling with kids or for an event where space is a must.

Bbilge_First time, i stayed at hostel and the hostel was acceptable with location and safety in hostel. Bus stops and metro is prettt easy to use. The people was nice to talk and communicate in hostel. Easy check in-out. The breakfast is not breakfast, just bread, nutella, peanut butter and pancake mix. Every morning, a lady cleaned the bathroom. Everyone was respectful to be quiet for others in my room; i was lucky✨🤞🏻

I was a little surprised by the lighting, but there were no bugs and it was usable. However, I saw a cockroach in the common area early in the morning. I think it came in from outside because the front door is right outside... but I haven't seen it since that day. The soundproofing isn't very good. There's not much information, but shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and a hair dryer are provided, and I think they provide at least one towel per person. It's not a hotel, but a B&B, so it's worth checking out if you're looking to save money.
