Luang Prabang Manichan Villa

Excellent value for money! It's right in the city center, just a few minutes' walk from the morning and night markets. The Mekong River is less than a hundred meters away, and the Royal Palace is also nearby. The à la carte breakfast was great.

Excellent hotel. Breakfast is à la carte and everything is wonderful. We booked a room with a private toilet and shower, but it turned out that all rooms in the hotel are without a shower and toilet. We still recommend the hotel nonetheless!

This hotel is nestled in an alley near the palace, very close to both the night market and the morning market. The rooms are clean and tidy, but in the mornings, there's a smoky smell from the vendors grilling food at the morning market. The room doesn't offer much of a view, but it's a fine place to stay for a night or two.

This hotel has a very convenient location in the heart of the city. It seems to be a guesthouse run by a local Lao family. There aren't many rooms available, and I was lucky enough to get a room. The facilities are fairly good for a guesthouse, but unfortunately, the breakfast is a bit stingy. You have to pick up a menu and order a set meal from 1 to 10 to choose from. Other than that, everything is quite nice. There are many French people staying at the guesthouse. It seems like the owner really likes French people to stay, which is why his business is thriving.

Facilities: Similar to the pictures. The shared bathroom is on the second floor; the old wooden floors creak. Three rooms share one bathroom, so it's not particularly crowded, but the water temperature is low and the water pressure is weak. The room amenities are quite complete, though a bit old. There's air conditioning, a ceiling fan, and a kettle. Complimentary tea bags and disposable toothbrushes are provided. The bathroom has shampoo, shower gel, and two bottles of water; a new bottle is provided on the second day of check-in. However, there doesn't seem to be a hairdryer. The mattress is on the firmer side, and the pillows are on the higher side; it's a matter of personal preference, but I like this type of mattress. Cleanliness: Public areas are cleaned daily, but I'm still a bit confused about where to take off my shoes, as some areas on the first floor lead through the courtyard to other rooms. The room cleanliness is acceptable, with some unavoidable small ants. The bathroom is quite clean. Environment: Located in a small alleyway near the morning market, it's quiet despite being in a bustling area. There are plenty of food options in the morning and evening. There's a temple nearby, and it's close to the Royal Palace and Mount Phousi, as well as the river. It's important to note that if you're booking a day trip or shared ride, the car can't enter the alley; it usually picks you up on the road leading to the river. Service: For some reason, this accommodation and the one across the alley are managed by the same owner, and breakfast is also eaten across the alley. The staff are actually stationed across the alley, so when you arrive, you'll find the large lobby empty, and there's no sign indicating where to go across the alley, which is confusing. Aside from that, it's quite good. The staff speaks basic English and can introduce nearby attractions. However, I want to complain about booking through Ctrip. They describe it very attractively, with early check-in, late check-out, and welcome fruit, which is impossible for this type of guesthouse. It's very misleading.
