Protea Hotel Lusaka International Airport

It’s convenient but there is a big door of improvements for housekeeping many things were missing including misquotes in the room I got bitten within the 5 minutes I got there

We stayed her for one night as we had a connecting flight. Efficient .... friendly ... no complaints at all. Location is great as it is literally a 5 minute walk from the airport terminals (both).

Hugely disappointing experience. We had preciously stayed at Protea hotels in the city so were excited to learn that this newly built airport hotel had opened. It was more expensive however we felt the convenience was worth the extra. Well, it was convenient. And the staff were outstanding….at every level. They were the only redeeming feature of the property and I genuinely felt sorry for them. Must be hard to keep smiling. Unfortunately I was suffering from a leg injury during the two nights we stayed, so a disability room was requested. I was able to walk with difficulty but the fact that ALL the rooms have a shower over a bath ruled out just a standard room. It is extraordinary that walk in showers are only available in the couple of disability rooms, in a newly built hotel. Anyway, it was great that I was able to walk as it would have been physically impossible to negotiate the room in a wheelchair chair or other mobility device. Unfortunately I could not recommend this hotel. It is so sad for the lovely staff.

I am giving a two star for service which feels unfair, the personnel is awesome. Really awesome. But its decisions made by management that needs to take the blame. We are a big group of people staying here, and its been for quite some time. Our company pays a lot for us to stay here while on a big project for the government. But we almost constantly need to go get food from other places as they never have almost anything. Like today I had to change my mind three times as everything I wanted to order was "Sorry we dont have" Really? You place yourself right at the airport to get as many customers as possible and to be convenient. No wonder my neighbour next door left for another hotel after one night. Come on guys.
