Hemu Guesthouse was a delightful surprise, from the spacious and engaging common area to the rooms. There are lots of lounging areas, tables, seats, books, coffee bar, activities, BBQ pit, and even a guitar for playing. The dorm room for the four girls is bigger than the typical youth hostel forms, with space to move around in front of the bunk beds. There is a set of disposable towel, face towel and toiletries provided on the bed, along with a bottled water. The blanket is thick and soft, which came as a pleasant surprise. Shower gel and shampoo are provided in the toilet, along with rubber slippers. There is hot water for showering. Unfortunately as is the case for most accommodations in china, there are no wet-dry separation areas in the toilet so the floor does get wet at the sink area after someone showers. The toilet lighting is also pretty dim. There is an area to hang clothes to dry on the second floor too.
Lady boss is friendly, she offered to help me order food if I need to because as a foreigner with no local number, I cannot order online takeaways on their Grabfood-equivalent apps. Hemu Guesthouse is a ~25 min walk from the entrance of Wugongshan, or you can take the shuttle bus and request to be dropped off in front of Hemu Guesthouse. I will recommend this budget-friendly place to travellers who are visiting Wugongshan.
