The People Lyon Hostel

This hostel was super cool! The dorms were comfortable with many cozy lights, the food from the restaurant were delicious, the staff were very friendly, it is also located in a really cool area in lyon! Definitely recommend and would come here again!

Solid hostel with clean facilities and a nice atmosphere. The shower in my room was super powerful, which meant that when you turned it on, it would shoot up into the air because the holder wasn’t screwed in properly/tight enough to withstand the force of the water. I told reception but I don’t think he fully understood what I meant because he told me someone would fix it and it was never fixed. If you’re in a top bunk, it’s hard to get in and out of because of the metal bars in the way. The only reason I’ve rated the location quite low is because it is up a hill, and I was there during a heatwave so that made the hill worse. I’m sure normally it’s ok, but in 40 degree heat with a backpack it was hard. The AC was also super weak and I’d find myself waking up throughout the night sweating. But at least they had some AC because I’ve been in hostels that haven’t lol. Their washing machines are pretty cheap (around 3.5 euros) and automatically dispense detergent.

In general I had a great stay! I would recommend it.  -you can burrow hair-dryer at the counter -the towels are rented -the space are all nice and clean, very comfortable  -the bed/mattress is slightly hard but the darkness in the cabin is terrific   -in the shared kitchen, you have all the utensils to cook and a fridge -the staffs are kind and helpful

I like the location and staff service. However the bathroom needs more care. The kitchen is really needed to be cleaned by the staff as well, the pot , pans are very old and need replacement ASAP.

A very quiet and clean hostel, however, it could be very hot and humid during summer when sleeping in a cell. Travelers need to go up the hill by buses or on foot, it takes about 10-15 mins from the nearest metro.

its far from the metro. when u walk there all hot and sweaty the room aircon is 30 over degree. sleeping in a coffin like room with most air circulation. people have no where to hang their cloths they just throw all over the room. went down to tell the staff its too hot, the staff say there are heatwave, economical reason they cannot reduce the aircon lower. then there are these rod infront of the bed where serve no purpose other than making it very difficult to climb in and out. Plus the locker is metal, people banging when taking things in and out. The whole night in a hot and stuffy, smelly and noisy coffin bed. i booked 2 night and wanted to cancel the 2nd night, they refuse. I left anyway. Save yourself the hassle, spend a few dollars more and get a better place to rest

Good localisation, clean and safe. You have to pay to access to a stockage or locker room. Located in a safe district and close by walk to center of the city.
