Hotel Central, nestled in the vibrant heart of Macau's historic city along Avenida de Almeida Ribeiro, is ideally situated near iconic landmarks such as St. Paul's Ruins and the Senado Square. Following a meticulous HK$2 billion acquisition and revitalization project, this century-old treasure was gloriously reborn in 2024. This singular century-old boutique hotel ingeniously merges a nostalgic retro aesthetic with advanced technology and eco-friendly principles, resulting in an ambiance that is both evocative of the past and refreshingly contemporary.

Exceptional. This is a 2-star hotel that truly delivers 5-star service. It has friendly staff, exceptional facilities, and a great location. It is directly downtown, away from the leading casinos/attractions, but in the heart of the central historic district. The room was cozy but new, and the fixtures and construction were all new and top quality. The restaurant was also above standard! A landmark building itself, the renovation has been praised for its quality and contribution to the Macau historic preservation efforts- and at a quality well above what was expected. The rate was also exceptional compared to the other options I was looking at. Stay at a piece of Macau- and come back to visit! I certainly will!

GGuest User 2024.07.16
The staff both at the swimming pool/sauna and breakfast were very impolite and did not respect any personal boundaries. For instance, one staff silently took the plate full of food from the table without even asking, while I was clearly eating from it. Another instance was when the staff decided to turn off the sauna (reduce the heat) while we were clearly seen inside through the glass door. The staff member responsible for the swimming pool/sauna entrance was coughing without covering her mouth or wearing any mask. Her duties included distributing the locker keys and giving pen to sign in the entrance journal. Why would the hotel even have this journal if there is a swimming pool/sauna entrance system which is accessed using a hotel room card? So, the actual number of stars that can be given to this hotel is three, only thanks to the nice interior and check-in staff.

The Altira staff were incredibly friendly. The room was huge and very comfortable. I enjoyed the welcome fruit and the face moisturizer which was provided in the evening. I tried to make a spa appointment, but I was informed that there were no openings. So I was extremely pleased when the spa called me an hour later to offer me a spot due to a cancelation. There are an abundance of coffee shops and restaurants around the hotel.

Long story. Overall is still pleasant. Some might say it’s a new hotel, cut some slack for them. Yes and no. If you are not ready, then don’t open. I would say either understaff or staffs are not experienced or well trained. To those that were working there now, I can see that they are doing their very best. Higher management might want to see how to improve further. 1: Reached hotel at 12pm. Put my luggage at reception and went out. They already have my booking and name verified. Came back at 4pm, waited for 30 minutes and gave me the wrong room type from my booking. When I went down to the counter, told me that my room is not ready yet. At 4pm and my room is not ready yet? The fact is that, there’s a group of walked in customers in front of me when I came back. They gave my room to them thinking that I am not back yet. And I have to wait for the other room, which was given a late checked out. And the guest had just left and room is not ready for me. So they put me up in another room to wait for my room. 2: Very generous with space. Room is spacious. Bright. Nice and clean. Which I think it has to be as it is a brand new hotel just opened in less than 2 weeks ago. 3: Stingy with water. Gave only 2 bottles of water. 250ml type. Asked for more and said at most can give 2 more only. 4: Water heater temperature not constant. One moment become very hot and one water becomes cold. And the hot that it suddenly became was very hot. Quite dangerous. 5: There is no robot to bring up your food deliveries and send anything that you request from hotel. You will have to go down to pick up your deliveries and wait for hotel staff to bring to you anything that you request for. I have to wait for 45 minutes for a pair of slippers. 6: The shower area had a design flaw that allows water to flow out when you shower and water ponded right in front the vanity counter. That was how I needed an extra pair of slippers. 7: The blinds of the windows are another wrong choice of blinds to install. You need to lower the entire day blind then you can bring up the black out blind. There are 7 panels of them in the room. My arms are sore after that. And you need to repeat the entire process to bring it up in the morning if you wish to see outside the window. 8: TV doesn’t have access to paid TV. Can only watch local channels. 9: Drop off point do not have a shelter like neighboring buildings. You get wet going in and out of the hotel entrance if it rains. 10: My room was on the top floor. Each time the lift moves, I can hear the braking lock engaging and disengaging. I can also feel the vibration from the gears that lowers and pulls the ropes. I am not a light sleeper and I can hear it. 11: Windows are double glazed. But still can hear the rain splattering while sleeping.

The hotel was clean and comfy with an excellent position right next to both light rail station and airport. It's less than a 10 minute train drive to the main ****** area of Venetian, Parisien and other famous sights. So it's very convenient and quite a good price. The only negative is every room in the hotel has two twin beds rather than a large double bed.

Environment: In Taipa, close to Macau Airport and Hengqin Port. It is separated from the Parisian and Venetian hotels by a road. There is a sky corridor on the second floor of the Londoner, and you can go to the Parisian to buy things. The Royal Garden is in the same building complex as the Londoner Hotel, and the duty-free shop here is smaller than that of the Parisian. The machines in the ****** can directly use Hong Kong dollars, otherwise you have to exchange them at the counter. Facilities: The room is fully equipped with smart toilets and full-body massage chairs. There is a massage room, and you can have someone massage you for an additional fee. All facilities are well maintained and clean, the rooms are spacious and bright, and there is no peculiar smell. The Knight Suite we booked has one king bed, one twin bed, and three bathrooms. All drinks in the water bar are free, and there are three large drawers of snacks, welcome snacks, and free refills. Service: Yuyuan's service is very considerate. The housekeeper will contact you in advance and provide free pick-up and drop-off. Butler Xiao Xu and concierge came to London to pick us up, checked all our luggage, and took us directly to the Royal Garden. We went directly to the guest room, and the housekeeper came to the guest room to help us check in, which was very convenient. The housekeeper will ask about the itinerary and arrange a vehicle to take us to the attractions. The old man didn't bring a thermos cup, so he gave us two thermos cups as gifts. The housekeeper is on call 24 hours a day. When I returned to the room at night, the housekeeper also put away the bath water, which was super worry-free. Catering: Breakfast is on the 36th floor, there are no people there. Afternoon tea is in the Chinese Garden on the 3rd floor of The Londoner. There is a buffet for breakfast. You have to order lobster, abalone, shrimp dumplings, and water crab porridge with the service staff. The ingredients are very fresh and taste good. Great experience. The water crab porridge at Londoner Hua Ting was a bit salty for us. I just happened to check in here and they were given fruit snacks. The housekeeper saw that the children liked to eat and immediately replenished everything they had finished. The whole family doesn't drink, so I didn't go to the cocktail party in the evening. We stayed in the Knight Suite, which cost 3W a night. Includes breakfast, afternoon tea and cocktails. There is also a pick-up and drop-off service. Very satisfied with all aspects of software and hardware. For the first time, I didn’t hear any dissatisfaction from the old man. Among the hotels I have stayed in in Macau this time, my overall ranking is The Londoner Royal Garden - The Londoner - Old Lisboa - Wynn Palace - New Lisboa.

My stay was nice and only would like to talk about the service of le buffet staff, I was walked in to the restaurant and order one of the ordered to cook lobster, the staff told me it’ll take about 20-30 minutes but until I finished my breakfast my order didn’t serve, which was around 1 hour plus. And I have tried to approach the same staff and told me ordered has placed and never served to my table. At last I gave up.

GGuest UserMy go-to accomodation whenever I visit Macau. Have been staying in Conrad Macao since around 2012.Location is one of the best in Cotai area. Room-wise, it used to be better in the past with better amenities, such as choice of toiletries, brighter lightings, and more cozy decoration for the junior suites. However, recent years, it has gotten noisier and more sophisticated. Cleanliness is also something that the hotel needs to look into. During my stay, I noticed a strand of hair stuck on the door of the bathroom. I purposely did not remove nor inform the housekeeping, as I would like to see if they are attentive enough to such details and clean it away. To my disappointment, throughout my 4-day stay, the strand of hair was stuck on the door and unmoved at the same position. Though the hotel ”failed the test”, it is overall still a nice one to stay at.

GGuest UserI stayed at the Grand Hyatt several times before the pandemic, and I still remember the spacious room and bathroom fondly. So, I decided to return for a birthday celebration. The service provided by Mavis was exceptional. She took the time to explain the different travel options and highlight the tourist sites in the area. Mavis personally walked us to our room, which was beautifully prepared with birthday decorations, and she arranged for a cake to be delivered later. Her kindness and sincerity truly stood out, and we felt the warmth of her service throughout our stay.

GGuest UserYou can forget about early checkin. Could only preregister strictly after 1230pm and had to come back for room key collection from 3pm onwards. The hotel requires 1000HKD for room deposit. We requested for twin beds but was informed there would be additional charges unlike other establishments who not only accommodated to our requests but they also did their best to make our stay memorable. Honestly we expected better service for the price paid. Wouldn’t consider staying here again when we could get better service elsewhere.

CCurious TravellerHighly recommending the Yoho Treasure Island Hotel. It is conveniently located in the center of the city. Just 5 minutes walk to Lisboa Hotel, and only 10 min walk to the center of Macau. Hotel is very new, and has the key facilities such as infinity pool, sauna, gym, cinema, as well as shuttle to ferry terminal and Zhuhai border crossing. There are a few restaurants , supermarket, department store, inside the hotel. Pool is facing the harbour and has a lovely view at sunset. Highly recommend this hotel and will definitely go back when I return to Macau.

DDarlemagneLocation: Obviously, if you can find a taxi, the hotel is only 5 minutes from the main Cotai *****. But if you need to walk, you need to walk past Grand Lisboa, Wynn and MGM to get to Londoner and the rest of the *****. Facilities: Very small (unheated) swimming pool only. There is a playroom for toddlers but not big. There is a video game arcade but the games are for older kids. Not recommended for young toddlers if you plan to spend time at the hotel. Also no ****** so the mall is quite quiet (which may not necessarily be a bad thing). Breakfast: breakfast is served at 3 places: buffet at Loccitane cafe which is western but quite small, buffet at the Cha chaan teng which is decent sized but serves mainly Chinese food, set breakfast at the noodle shop on the other side of the hotel. So if you expect a big buffet selection serving both western and Chinese food, this is not the place. All in all decent place to stay for couples if the price is right.

GGuest UserThe theme of l'occitane is quite comfortable and attractive! But I don't understand why I have to wait until 3:30pm to check in at 3pm?🙄 The staff at the front desk are very polite, but the white uniformed staff in charge of baggage storage are not polite, especially the man with glasses! I understand that it is a hard job, but he could have been a bit more polite! 😐 The hotel room is very nice, but how many seconds does it take to press the lift button? Many travellers don't know what's going on with the lift button!🧐 And the location is not very convenient! There is no shuttle bus to connect to the hotel, so I have to take a taxi every time!

AArina EgorovaI liked the hotel, good reception service, friendly staff. The room was clean, there was one jar of bath salt for free, it pleased me. The location of the hotel is a bit inconvenient, you either need to take a taxi or walk 25-30 minutes to the streets with restaurants. But despite this, the view from the window is very beautiful. There was one moment that disappointed me a little, when cleaning the room, the maid put one torn set of a bathrobe and the next day did not replace it. I had to look for her and trying to find her and ask to change it to another one . Thanks to the staff that even at 5 a.m. they helped to call a taxi and helped with the suitcases . On my next trip, I would stay at this hotel again
