Riu Plaza España

The location is excellent, right at the doorstep of Plaza de España and Gran Vía, making it convenient for shopping and dining. It's also a short walk to the Royal Palace of Madrid. Downstairs, there's a large Zara and Zara Home, and behind the hotel, there are many Chinese restaurants run by Chinese people, as well as a Carrefour supermarket. The hotel's rooftop bar offers incredible views. Guests can access it for free and enjoy a 360-degree panorama of Madrid, including the Royal Palace and the Temple of Debod. Regarding facilities: The most unbearable thing was that the hotel didn't have duvets! There was only a very thin duvet cover. I had to dig out a thin blanket from the closet, which didn't feel very clean, so I could only use it over the duvet cover as a makeshift solution. With rain in early October, it was a bit cold, and I had to sleep with a bath towel for both nights. When I stayed at the Marriott in Bilbao, they had proper duvets. Regarding service: Our flight landed early in the morning, and we went to check-in at the hotel. The front desk staff could communicate in English, but they didn't proactively help us find a ready room, nor did they clearly tell us when the room would be available, only saying to wait for an email. The room finally became ready after 1 PM. Also, the hotel lobby is very small and gets chaotic when there are many people. However, the hotel doorman was very nice; he asked if we needed a taxi and helped us hail one on the street. Breakfast: It was absolutely delicious and had a wide variety of options, including various hams, cheeses, eggs, bread, smoked salmon, churros, fruits, and even takeaway coffee cups. Someone escorts you to your seat, and you can request a window seat. It's open from 7 AM to 10:30 AM, and the breakfast gets full marks!

The bed in the room was quite narrow. There were no slippers, but there was a hairdryer. The layout was a bit strange. If you turn left when you exit the hotel, there are many Chinese restaurants. The location is good, right next to the metro, but lines 3 and 10 don't share the same entrance.

The hotel's location is excellent, with convenient transportation and easy access to shopping. The breakfast buffet offers a wide variety of choices, and the rooms are clean and tidy. However, the hotel staff's service attitude is mediocre, especially the front desk and lobby staff who are not very friendly towards Chinese guests.

The Riu Plaza España is a large hotel with clean rooms and a popular rooftop bar. Guests can access the bar for free to enjoy the views, especially popular around sunset. Early check-in and check-out are very convenient, and there's staff in the lobby to collect key cards. It's also very close to the subway station, with an entrance right outside the hotel.

Located in the heart of Madrid, with bus and subway stations just a 3-minute walk away. The Royal Palace is within a 15-minute walk. The rooftop features an trendy sky bar, perfect for admiring the city's nightscape and watching the sunset, accessible directly with your room key card. Breakfast is included with every room and it was the most abundant we had during our 20-day trip through Spain and Portugal, bar none: fresh-fried churros, unlimited salmon, avocado, and ham, plus hot stir-fried dishes! The room was quite spacious, the shower water was excellent, and the bedding was clean. There's an electric kettle and a complimentary bottle of premium bottled water.

This is simply the best hotel in Madrid! Its location is unbeatable, right above the Plaza de España metro station. Plus, you have Zara, Mango, and Punto Roma (Little Note) right downstairs. As a guest, you get unlimited access to the rooftop bar and don't have to wait in line for the amazing views. And the breakfast? Absolutely superb with a fantastic variety!

The hotel boasts beautiful rooftop views, and we were incredibly lucky to get a suite directly overlooking the Spanish Steps. The location is super central and excellent 👍. However, I ended up completely messing up my sleep schedule every day! The location is really convenient though, with plenty of shopping, Chinese restaurants, other Spanish restaurants, and souvenir shops nearby. We didn't get a chance to try the hotel's breakfast, unfortunately 😂.

The room was great, quite spacious, and very clean. The key card access to the elevator made me feel secure. However, they somehow lost my booking, and it took over an hour to find it.

The stay was great, check-in was super fast and friendly. The only thing was that the sheets and walls in the room were a bit stained. The breakfast was complete and well organized.
