Tawan Riverside - Elephant Resort

This is such a special experience. We booked one night here in order to do the full elephant experience and then the elephant wake up in the morning. The elephant experience itself is phenomenal. You really get quality time feeding them, walking with them in the jungle, bathing them and just seeing them around the property. The bamboo raft is also nice and the lunch by the waterfall too. Overall just a great experience. The room itself is okay. The bathroom isn’t well laid out with the shower being in the same space as the toilet so water gets everywhere. The outlets were also finicky making it hard to charge devices. But for one night it did the trick - we stayed here because we wanted to do the elephant wake up which was a fun way to start the day with the elephants coming to your room to eat bananas!

This accommodation cannot be compared with normal hotels. I stayed in the room on the edge of the river. The room was very primitive. There was no air conditioner, no signal, no WiFi, no phone, no towel, toothbrush, slippers, only shower gel, bottled water and an electric fan. The mountain road is really difficult to walk, especially on rainy days. My elephant call that morning was cancelled because the water level was too high for the elephants to come over on a rainy day. The host is not very professional, so I have to take the initiative to ask. The call was cancelled early and no one notified me. I was waiting in the room stupidly because there was no phone in the room, no WiFi, and the mobile phone had no signal in the village room. If you have anything, you have to walk to the reception to ask. Long distances are dirt roads. In fact, it is much more convenient to live in the mountains. But I still think it's worth it. Although not an enjoyable experience. But it's a really special process. I chose to take a bath with an elephant for 1200 baht per person. It was fun. This is an elephant conservation purpose. There will be a chance to go again.

The service is very good. Although we don't speak the same language, the store always finds ways to solve our problems. We also signed up for bamboo rafting, elephant bathing, and wild waterfalls. The store accompanied us throughout the trip and helped take photos. The most exciting thing was the elephant's wake-up service the next morning. The children had a lot of fun. Facilities: The conditions of the wooden house in the mountain are average, and the toilet smells very bad. Hygiene: Average, a little damp. Service: Very good. The free breakfast and the breakfast brought by the hotel are average, and I hope it can be improved. The food in the bar in the hotel is delicious.

If you are looking for a rustic adventure, then this is for you. The cabin was basic and had a wetroom, however the view was gorgeous. A peaceful and soul soothing environment. There are many activities offered, we opted for the elephant wake up call, the bamboo rafting and the ride up to the old temple. Breakfast is included. The Tawan restaurant makes phenomenal Khao Soi, I'd recommend going there for lunch. The staff we absolutely fantastic! They are so friendly, helpful and genuine! I would definitely recommend this as a rustic getaway adventure!

The environment is very good, the food is delicious, and there are almost no landmines. The children have a lot of fun. The tent has its limitations, and there are still more mosquitoes, but it does not affect the children's happiness.
