Mercure Maidstone Great Danes Hotel

Was a good stay except we did not get our breakfast in the morning on our last night as there seemed to be no breakfast slips being left in our room. They had to be printed out. It would be have been better if there was more organisation in place. Also, I had placed the do not disturb pamphlet on the outside of the door and house keeping still knocked on our door very loudly whilst we were still sleeping. This was not expected and did frustrate me as my sleep was disturbed.

Our room was dirty and old , I think the all hotel needs a renovation , we found hair on pillow and a piece of an orange juice carton on the floor .

Good hotel, great location for visits to Leeds Castle & Chatham dockyard. Excellent buffet breakfast. Free parking (remember to register your registration plate), very helpful & competent reception staff. Room was OK for 2 adults / 1 child, however quite hot (in end of March). Windows need replacing though, lots of condensation in the morning. Shame we were inland facing rather that outward looking at the grounds / greenery. Enjoyed using the pool area with lifeguard present. Changjng rooms & pool were clean however needs a bit a maintenance - pool ceiling for example. Overall pretty good budget hotel.

Good place to stay. Good breakfast. A bit uncomfortable the stairs with the luggage and elevator to small. They can improve the service

The hotel is a bit dated but for the price we paid, it was good value. In terms of location, it was great for us as we were guests at a wedding at Leeds Castle and this hotel was literally around the corner. Staff were friendly and helpful. We did not use the leisure centre, but was told by family that it was really nice, especially the swimming pool. Regarding the room, as soon as you walk in you can smell the drains in the bathroom which is by the door but it's not that bad that you can smell it in the room. We had a family room which was large and had a king and two singles. The room was ok regarding cleanliness, some missed areas and dead insects which may have flown in through the big windows. Breakfast was nice with a decent selection of food and good choice of drinks which was needed after a hot weekend. Overall we are pleased with our stay and would recommend it.

Compared to a 4-star hotel, the corridors and rooms were quite old, a little renovation would be a good idea, there was no air conditioning, only an old fan, it was a bit of an illusion destroyer. The SPA department closed at 7 pm and we wanted to swim at 8 pm, such a big full-house hotel that is not cheap, can't operate a non-stop SPA? At dinner, we had to wait more than 40 minutes for the food to be brought out. It was okay, but it won't be among my favorites.

The hotel itself needs a new lease of life. A lock of paint, change carpets and mordenise the bathrooms and furniture. Our chair had stains. Apart from that wow lovely grounds my goodness, staff friendly and helpful, lovely touches like the water and juice available in the reception lobby nice decorated. Loved the gym and pool area too especially the jacuzzi very nice. The ceiling above the roof needs attention, plenty of parking very good and the beds were super comfortable. The TVs well needs bigger and newer ones. Breakfast very nice thanks.

Very warm welcome from the young lady on reception - a very clean and well located hotel for the channel tunnel. Would recommend.

Checking in at reception was quick & easy. The room was spacious with a large king-size bed which was comfy and the room was toasty. Good value, would recommend and stay again.
