Just back from a weeks stay at the Martins Playa and I’m already yearning to go back. First off I have to say that the previous reviews about the staff being cold and unwelcoming at reception are wrong. We were warmly greeted when we arrived and all members at reception that we dealt with during the week were super helpful, kind and friendly. We got checked in early too. All staff from house keeping to restaurant staff were friendly and helpful. The animation team were brilliant with our two children too. The kids were kept entertained at the kids club during the day when they went along and they loved Mario’s Disco in the evenings. The entertainment was also great. The Dynamic Explosion acrobats was fantastic. I’d pay to see them! So huge thank you and well done to the animation team. Some reviews also stated that the music at night went on until the early hours. It didn’t while we were there, music was off by 10:30 at the latest. The indoor heated pool was great for the cooler days but the outdoor pool wasn’t freezing. The adult only spa is a great way to spend some relaxing time away from the kids haha. Cala Millor also has lots of shops and great walks. We can’t wait to come back.

We were there last year. Last year everything was better organized. Pool area not so clean. In the reception I was missing the Dutch receptionist from last year. Bar staff was better last year. Pedro from the bar is the best bartender. Cleaning staff rooms okay

We stayed here in 2018 and unfortunately due to Covid could not come back in 2020 as planned. We are now 5 days into our 2nd holiday here and I would say overall it’s actually better than before. We are staying in the premium room with pool view and previously stayed in the block to the right which had 2 rooms and a kitchenette. This room suits us as a family of 4. It’s open plan and has an amazing view of the evening entertainment which we like and also a great view of the sea. I’ve seen lots of reviews mention the sunbeds which surprises me as I’m pretty much the 1st down at 8:45am (to be clear I sit on the sunbed and don’t go down to just out towels down!) every day has been fine for this. What I also find very impressive is there are around 8-10 staff at that time and earlier cleaning the pool, pool area and windows. It really is immaculately clean. Another complaint I read about was how this is not for English people. Again, I massively disagree. The entertainment is predominantly in English even when we have been the minority. I love meeting the other nationalities, I see English people everyday at home and it’s nice to play games with the German/Dutch guys who have all been really friendly. My kids (10 & 7) have loved the entertainment, the animation team have been fantastic and i think his name is JD (lovely lad from Columbia) has been exceptional and takes it up a level. There is always something to do and even when the weather wasn’t great they made a big effort to involve everyone. I love the breakfast, I’ve had fresh omelettes everyday and there is so much choice I didn’t feel the need for evening food here as we like to go out and explore the area anyway. Reception have been fantastic and the cleaners do an amazing job cleaning the rooms every single day. The pool is awesome, last time I came there were 3 and they have since joined 2 up to make a huge pool and separate kids area. There was an ‘accident’ with a little kid soiling the pool and they very quickly cleared the pool and treated it effectively. Personally I liked the arcade they used to have but that’s now used by the animation team and has games consoles in there which reflects the modern age but still was a nice touch previously. Location wise it’s situated slap bang in the middle of Cala Bona and Cala Millor, I like this as we go either way on different evenings, Cala Bona feels more chilled with a lovely quiet beach and nice harbour and Cala Millor is more lively with a recently refurbished shopping area and bigger beach. I can honestly say it’s a great hotel, meticulously ran and having researched MANY other hotels around Cala Bona and Cala Millor I wouldn’t go to any other. Hopefully we can come back next year.

We had a fantastic time at Marins Playa. Here are the main highlights of our stay. The entertainment team were absolutely superb. They really make all the kids feel good and I was really impressed with them The activities schedule was great. There were high quality shows every night and and activities for all ages of kids as wells as adults. These includes pool games like water volleyball, football, and other games, as well as crafts etc. The pool area was really good. The water is kept very warm and that means the kids are happy to spend most of the day in the pool rather than shivering after an hour or two. And there was private ship pool with mini water slides etc. Prices for the accommodation and drinks were reasonable, and the drinks/cocktails were good. The hotels is well located for walking access to Cala Millor and Cala bona. Somethings that should be considered: The hotel does get quite crowded in August. The hotel is set across multiple buildings, and whilst we were in the main one, the view from our room was ok but not great. Some of the rooms do have pool views but many have no view or overlook a road. The corridors could be updated and air conditioned. The air conditioning in the room wasn’t great. Overall, I would highly recommend the hotel though. It isn’t high end luxury but it more than makes up for it with entertainment and a great vibe.

Lovely clean hotel, with nice spacious rooms and well equipped. The pools are great but were cold! Food is perfect, meal times are hectic as its such a busy spot. The supermarket on site is great. Our only issues were its not really for English-speaking families. So our kids didn't get to interact much and the European guests were a bit on the grumpy side! Sun loungers plenty of them but they go very early in the morning. Other than that an enjoyable stay hotel is close to everything and found the local people very friendly.

We stayed here in August as two families of 5 (2 adults & 3 children aged 5-12) and stayed for a week. The complex has different apartment blocks 1 to 5 we stayed in block 5 which was outside of the hotel across the street. Two swimming pools a main pool and kids pool with pirate ship and slides. If we could score out of 10 it would be a 7. In summary nice hotel very clean and staff great. Let down as the facilities have been outgrown by the accommodation hence too cramped and food of poor quality and repetitive. Pros - Rooms very clean and cleaners amazing. Very attentive and accomplished. - Staff on reception were great especially Andrea and animation team we always happy and friendly. - Pirate ship slides for the kids they loved this. - Locations great as equal distance to Cala Millor and Bona. - External entertainment was great especially Smooth Criminal Jackson show. Cons - Facilities too cramped so Sun beds always taken and too close together. As they built the apartments around the facilities means too many people to communal areas. - Food was very average and not one memorable dish all holiday. Bland and repetitive. - Animation team did their best but area is crammed and means mostly restricted for children and adults. Overall very nice hotel and would recommend they build on the grassy area an extended pool area to keep up with the expanded accommodation and work out a better flow between all the accommodation blocks.

Where do I start! The evening we arrived we were put into the block across from the reception. The apartments were old / crusty/ smelled of damp badly, with ants crawling everywhere. Definitely not what was advertised on their website. I seen a sign in the elevator the next day for €20 per day for an upgrade. We went with that option and got relocated to the 4th floor to another apartment. It was lovely and big and renovated. It was like being in a different hotel. The restaurant on the ground floor was like feeding time at the zoo, it was so busy and uncomfortable. We found the adults only restaurant on the top floor, which was heaven, defiantly 4 star dinning. It was never mentioned to us at reception that this facility was an option. The food was of high quality and always something to eat. The hotel inside was very clean. It was a very well run hotel. The entertainment was geared towards under 7's, there was not much to entertain 16 year old's and we found ourselves wandering down the town most evenings, which was a pity. You could not get a sun bed past 9pm in the morning, although most were not occupied till the afternoons. The pool area was very busy, it was like a creche. If you have kids under 7, i would say its a great option. if you are adults only, its also a lovely option as the adults only sun bathing area on the top floor has hot tubs, a bar and leather beds and the restaurant is fab, once you dont mind not having any entertainment in the evening.
