I had an unpleasant experience staying at The Belamy House. It was unbelievably noisy. You can hear the noise from outside, the footsteps in the hallway, the conversations inside and outside the rooms. I was very dismayed when a group of 3 girls next door were extremely loud very late at night. I think they were on their way out for dinner. I reported them immediately and the receptionist told me she will send someone to check. Unfortunately, after a few minutes they left their room and I heard their room phone ringing. So I called the reception again and told them the girls have left. Then at 12:15 am I heard them again, they were back. A few minutes later, I heard male voices so I peeked on the peep hole. I saw three hotel staff (2 maintenance/housekeeping and 1 security) outside their door so I thought they must be the ones sent by the receptionist to tell the girls to quiet down. But NO, these guys enabled the noise and were loud as well. They socialized, engaged in conversations, even made crude jokes and sexual innuendos (I have it on recording). Even though the girls reciprocated and didn’t take offense, I think this is very inappropriate. Staff interactions must remain helpful, polite, and brief, maintaining strict professional boundaries. Hanging out or chatting casually violates basic safety and hospitality standards, and shouldn’t be mistaken for kindness or friendliness. There were other interactions after this (i.e food delivery, laundry pick up). Noise died down around 2am. The next day I reported what happened and requested to be moved rooms if those girls are staying for another night. The receptionist noted down the incident and quickly arranged a room transfer which I greatly appreciate.
I hope The Belamy House management address this issue and investigate this matter. This behavior violates standard hospitality safety protocols and corporate code of conduct.
