DoubleTree has always been my choice since i first stayed here in 2022. This is my 3rd time staying and the level of hospitality and service is so wonderful. I tried other hotels on my last visit in January 2025, but it wasn't great, so here I am back at DoubleTree. The location to the Grand Mosque of Makkah is fairly reasonable - one can walk (via Hilton Convention Hotel) - sloped surface, or take the complimentary shuttle that stops at Hilton Conrad on Jabal Omar. Wear good walking shoes.
Mr. Ahmed Elsayed at the restaurant is a top-notch manager. I only mentioned something to him, and he had his colleague make it especially for me. That was totally unexpected and they both went out of their way to ensure that it was a problem. They did it again the next day. Such personable service from both gentlemen and the others at DoubleTree Makkah.
The room was spacious, clean, bathroom had Crabtree & Evelyn toiletries. The bed was super comfortable and I slept very well which is something rare! And of course the signature cookies i love. Thank you!!
Security staff, specifically the younger ones are quite rude. They aggressively single you out if you don't look stereotypically wealthy and demand your hotel card at C level.
The pictures here are after I told them to clean the bathroom. Not sure what the cleanliness standard is at this hotel when it comes to bathrooms.
I also pointed out to what looks like an insect breading nest, the cleaner spinner me a story and said it was paint.
Now that I've got the negatives out of the way. We lived the location. The room itself was up to standard, just one day, I had to call numerous times to get it cleaned.
The food at the restaurants were top quality. Really enjoyed it.
Hilton makkah has always been among my favourite hotel, the only disadvantage is the distance which is slightly far from the main door of AlHaraam. The interior was excellent and the friendly staffs are commendable. I got a partial haraam view as previous
The breakfast menu was superb too

Jumeira Jabbal Omar is a beautiful hotel Maashallah. The hotel, is very modern, clean and has an array of shops in the local building for quick access. It is a 4 minute walk from the haram and is in close proximity to gate 79 umrah entrance and also to clock tower.
The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Whilst the haram is close, you should still try to get to the haram early for prayer times as sometimes certain routes are closed thus redirecting mutamireen to alternate areas which may not be where you intended to be.
The one negative about the hotel is that it is located in an area of the haram that is not easily detected on google maps thus unable to order an uber from this hotel as a pickup point. This is however the case with several hotels close to the haram.
This was otherwise a lovely stay and in shaa Allah looking forward to returning soon.
The location of the hotel is fabulous
There are three routes to the masjid ul haram. One is exiting the lobby and turning left, walking up marriott and then turning right (you will see the haram to see what I mean) - then walk down the slight hill. The second is exiting the lobby, and walking left across the street, straight through hilton convention. The third is exiting the lobby, turning left and walking up the stairs that are next to Makkah Gate sign. You then turn left and head to haram down the escalators that everyone posts about online!
It is hilly using route one or three, but not really an issue for walking or pram users.
This is aside from two other ways to reach the haram: the marriott shuttle bus which drops you near conrad, near the I love Makkah area. Or, the golf buggy which takes you the same route as Walking Route One I mentioned above. Id recommend getting the buggy as its less crowded. The golf buggy comes to the same drop off spot to take you back. Shuttles buggys are really constant and timely, jus wait around. The marriott is opposite the Address hotels back entrance.
There are wonderful coffee shops if you climb the stairs as mentioned in my Walking Route 3 I mentioned above. Great area to take children to play and run around.
The mosque is part of the haram so every room has a live speaker during prayer time with mic volume to adjust. You can joim salaah from your room or go to the prayer room on floor 3.
Reception gave us a cheaper breakfast or dinner price than online voucher places.
Breakfast is average but convenient.
There is a cafe on ground floor that serves nice hot or cold food anytime in the day. A baskin Robbins freezer is also there.
Hotel staff and reception are lovely!!!
The hotel is very well located, with excellent amenities and close to the mosque. Overall, the facilities are what you would expect from a Hilton. Price is obviously a big factor, but otherwise it is a very good option given its location and nearby amenities. There is also a nice restaurant outside, along with a direct connection into the mall, which has a wide range of shops and supermarkets.
Our stay at Conrad Hotel Makkah was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the staff and immediately impressed by the hotel’s elegance, cleanliness, and attention to detail.
The location is perfect, just a short walk to Masjidil Haram, with easy access for prayers and a peaceful atmosphere that adds to the spiritual experience.
The room was spacious, luxurious, and spotlessly clean. The bed was incredibly comfortable, the bathroom well-appointed with high-end amenities, and the housekeeping team ensured everything was immaculate every day.
Service at Conrad Makkah is truly world class. Every staff member we encountered was professional, kind, and eager to help. They went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and well looked after throughout our stay.
The breakfast buffet was excellent, a wide variety of international and Middle Eastern dishes, all freshly prepared and delicious. The dining area was elegant, and the staff attentive to every detail.
Overall, Conrad Makkah exceeded our expectations in every way. It perfectly blends luxury, comfort, and convenience with the spiritual tranquility that every visitor to Makkah seeks. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting for Umrah or Hajj, you won’t be disappointed.
We have been staying at this hotel as a family for three years now, and honestly, we would never consider anywhere else. It truly is one of a kind. The staff are exceptional and consistently go above and beyond to make each stay feel special. A heartfelt thank you to the manager (I regret not taking your name) who showed us such kindness in the early hours of 18 August 2025; your thoughtfulness meant the world to us and is something I will never forget.
The location is perfect, just a 5 minute walk to the Masjid al-Haram, with the Clock Tower and mall right at your doorstep. Staying here makes our Umrah so much easier and more comfortable. ************* for this blessing, and for such an outstanding hotel that we now consider our home in Makkah.
