❌ HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE: Exploding AC Damaged My Laptop, Predatory Pricing, and Zero Noise Control
What started as a highly flawed but tolerable stay completely devolved into a total nightmare. I am a digital nomad, and staying here has cost me both peace of mind and thousands in damaged property.
💥 The Breaking Point:
Exploding AC & Damaged Laptop
Initially, I was staying in a room that actually had working WiFi. I tolerated the outdated furniture and dust because the baseline price was low, and I simply chose to clean the room myself to make it livable.
However, the air conditioner in my room literally exploded. Not only was it terrifying, but the explosion directly caused severe damage to my laptop. Because of this hotel's faulty, unmaintained units (similar to the ancient setup shown in my images),
I am now forced to completely replace my primary work laptop entirely out of my own pocket.
🛜 From Bad to Worse:
The WiFi Lottery
After the AC explosion, management moved me to a different room. This room change sent my experience from bad to absolutely terrible. In this new room, the WiFi on this side of the building was completely nonexistent and completely impossible to use. If you need a reliable internet connection, you cannot risk staying here.
🔊 Chaos, Screaming, and Zero Management
If you are looking for peace and quiet, look elsewhere. The management has zero control over their guests, and the overall quality of the crowd here is incredibly disruptive:
Day & Night Disruptions:
You will be subjected to the sounds of children screaming at all hours of the day and night.
Hallway Fights:
The adults are just as bad, regularly screaming and shouting at each other right outside the rooms.
Slamming Doors:
Guests slam the wooden doors so violently that it feels like the walls are going to shake apart.
Ruined Sleep:
Expect to be jolted awake every single morning between 6:00 AM and 7:00 AM by the chaotic noise.
💰 Predatory 6x Price Spikes
To add insult to injury, their surge pricing is completely predatory. I started out paying a reasonable 80 RMB (~47 MYR) per night. Overnight, because a national vacation period started, they jacked the rate up to a staggering 580 RMB (~342 MYR)!
To demand a six-fold price increase while providing zero service upgrades, non-functional WiFi, and hazardous appliances is outright robbery.
🪳 Severe Hygiene Issues & Infestations
The property desperately needs to thoroughly deep-cleaned, and professionally fumigated before anyone else stays here:
The Bathroom:
When I first arrived, the toilet bowl was literally full of poop. I had to track down a cleaner myself just to make the bathroom usable.
The in-room cups were also visibly filthy.
Plaster Bagworm Infestation:
The plaster walls and corners are absolutely covered in Plaster Bagworms—small, gray, teardrop-shaped moth cacoons.
They thrive heavily in dusty, unmaintained, humid environments.
Amenities:
There is no complimentary bottled water, tea, or coffee in the room. You have to walk out to a shared hot/cold water dispenser right in front of the elevator.
🗺️ The Only Positive
The sole upside is that the location is close to the beach area and looks out onto a standard street of local shop-lots.
But a view does not compensate for property damage and structural neglect. I have to spend so much money to repair my laptop due to electrical damage.
Final Verdict:
Absolutely do not recommend. Between the predatory weekend price spikes, the non-existent WiFi, the endless screaming, and an air conditioner that destroyed my laptop, this place is a safety hazard. Stay away!
