Six Senses Kanuhura

Our trip to the Maldives in November 2023 to the newly opened Kanuhura, now under the management of Six Senses, was simply exceptional and unforgettable. We stayed for 3 weeks and every day was a revelation of gorgeous nature, caring service and genuine smiles. I have visited several islands in the Maldives, but Kanuhura is truly outstanding in every way! The island itself is perfect, with a wonderful beach all around, which is almost unique in the Maldives. There is also beautiful old vegetation with countless orchids. Very comfortable, newly renovated or newly built, tasteful bungalows where you simply feel at home. In addition to this perfect island, and the fantastic food, which leaves nothing to be desired, I would particularly like to mention the friendliness, the warmth and the great service. The list of "good spirits" is long - very long, but I would like to mention a few here: JB, Brice, Thapa, Farooq, Aroon, Diba, Ann, Blackbird, Amilla, Quwan, Arshad and so many more. All deserve to be mentioned and praised for their kindness, courtesy and helpfulness. A special thank you also to the housekeeping staff who always went out of their way to make our beautiful water bungalow perfect and put special lactose free milk in the fridge for my daughter every day, in addition to the special goodies they surprised us with every day. What else is there to say ..... except that everything was so perfect and so much better than we could have ever imagined. We'll be back when life allows. That is our goal! We absolutely loved our magical 10 days (want more!) at the Six Senses. Gorgeous villas, delicious food, amazing ice cream/sorbet Scoops bar, warm and attentive staff, kids club activities for the young ones and massages for the parents….activities and days filled with wonder, escape from everyday business, deliciousness and show-stopping sunsets…just wow! We had the best time!

I recommend this resort for families and couples especially the first timers good food very good service I chose the deluxe suit beach villa with pool even though it was sun rise but it was very good choice especially for privacy seekers nice restaurant selection a good size island (mid size) that was my sixth visit to the Maldives deferent resort each time ( see my other reviews) and this is the only reason why I didn’t gave it 5 over 5 It was a good experience my wife and I had a very good time A bid thank you to all of the staff especially the girl in the ice cream shop

We had the most wonderful time on our honeymoon at Six Senses. No wish remains unfulfilled there. The restaurants are all delicious, the spa is a dream and the activities programme is super varied and diverse. Our personal contact Shifu, who really did everything for us, deserves special mention. She was always there to help us and was so empathetic, charming and flexible. We will never forget this time and will always keep it in our hearts. We really miss the view of the most beautiful water in the world, as well as the fresh and fantastic breakfast. There is something for everyone here. Thank you for such a wonderful time. We‘re coming back!

Six Senses Kanahura is a paradise on the Maldives with exceptional service, delectable food, and endless activities. The island is stunning, offering a perfect blend of natural beauty and luxury. Special thanks to Arshad for his attentive care during our stay. Truly unforgettable!

This resort lives up to the casual luxury vibes that we expect from a Six Senses property. We have visited several Six Senses properties this year and were anxiously awaiting this trip. We have visited the Maldives before, but this particular property, we will return to. We visited with our 4 year old daughter and it was absolutely outstanding. Our villa was spacious, clean and well kept. We loved that the pool was in front on the villa vs. behind as some of the other resorts we have stayed in. Also, I love an island vibe but GREATLY appreciated an indoor bathroom. There was a glass door that opened up into a “garden” area with an outdoor shower, but the tub, toilet and shower were behind glass with a fan and aircon. This is a very odd thing to write, but with a small child a good note for us. Our villa stayed cool if we ran the aircon and had ZERO humidity issues. I was amazed. Since the island is all open-air, with the exception of the villas, I was thankful to have a cool reprieve for my toddler to take a nap. We thoroughly enjoyed breakfast. The buffet selection was extensive, and they also offered a la carte options. We also really loved Sip and Sand for lunch (and had a lovely dinner there as well). Sushil (I hope I have this name correct) was absolutely fantastic. He was friendly, attentive and knew the menu. The standout restaurant for us was The Point. I regret that I didn’t get our waiter’s name. He was very knowledgeable and the view was lovely for dinner and lunch. We didn’t do much of anything, because we didn’t have to. On other trips to the Maldives, we felt the need to be doing way more activities, but because our villa, beach and pool were so outstanding, we hung out a lot. That being said, the activities were EXTENSIVE. A lot to offer! Our GEM, Shifu, was outstanding. She wasn’t overbearing and provided us with amazing service. She was able to adjust to our more “relaxed” approach. She was incredibly knowledgeable of the area and kind. Our housekeeping team was so kind. I regret not getting his name. However, he was a magician and always seemed to appear just as we were heading out to clean up while we were at breakfast. Also, the seaplane lounge is very nice. Our transfers were handled smoothly and we were put in a private car (not a shared situation) to get to and from the seaplane lounge. I appreciated that. Truly a wonderful holiday. We are already settling on our dates for next year and will stay for longer. ONE last thing, my husband was very curious about the sustainability and how the island was managed “behind the scenes”. A “meeting” was scheduled with the Landscape Manager and my husband LOVED it. He answered all my husband’s curious questions and also just spoke to how Six Senses is managing sustainability etc. (we love that Six Senses has sustainability plans but that isn’t our top priority when booking,if that makes sense, this trip we were way more “into” it) The management team is hands

The BEST hotel and beach I’ve ever visited in the WORLD!!! I’ve been to quite a few six senses and love their service and also visited the other six senses in Laamu but this had a completely different vibe to it! It wasn’t just me who was thinking this as I spoke to quite a lot of other travellers there. One chap who visits the Maldives every Xmas - Said this island definitely had the best beach he’d ever visited! The service was impeccable. I took my Mama on this venture and she wasn’t able to use the bikes they give you to get around so we were ferried around by our very own butler/ GEM on our little golf buggy. They all were so kind, to us. From getting Mummy as special cushion to meeting us have an extra 1 or 2 complimentary cocktails after cocktail hour! I was amazed at the complimentary services they put on for us from an introduction to scuba diving, having a 1:1 cooking lesson after I sampled one of their delicious curries I had one evening. To consistently being checked on by their many friendly staff. There was never a problem, always a solution and they went out of their way to make everything extra special. On arrival we were greeted off our sea plane with cold refreshments and scented cool hand towels.. when we arrived at our beautiful beach villa I burst into tears as they had kindly upgraded us to a villa with its own private pool! There was a bottle of bubbles waiting for us. Most evenings we had lovely yummy local healthy treats waiting for us in our rooms. The place is FAULTLESS! From the pools, the gym, the sea, the free boat trips to the other island which also has its own restaurant were just incredible!!! This holiday will be etched in my memory forever. The place is extremely grounding, and I loved the relaxed vibe they encourage you to take. They encourage you to walk barefoot and put on complimentary yoga / meditation every day. I came back so refreshed and grateful that I almost felt I had been on a spiritual retreat! Not to mention the complimentary massages I had! All their instructors have incredible knowledge on their subject and really want to help you understand your body, not just in the 1:1 sessions. I was so grateful to all the team. There wasn’t one member who didn’t stand out. But I MUST give a special shout out to our very special GEM - Kimberley, who couldn’t have done any more for us. We felt sad leaving her behind and her magical happy energy seemed to be infectious. JP is lucky to have her on his team. Thank you all so much! And I hope one day our paths will cross once again! Thank you Six Senses for a great experience ! Fantastic island, Amazing Beach Villas, more privacy for the beach villas on the windy side, with a very much needed breeze, great staff, one of the best main pools in the Maldives with a well stocked Bar, great cocktails and drinks there too. Very wide beach, great waters. 5th time in the Maldives, one of our best experiences. Stayed for 10 days and never seen a mosquito or roaches in the whole of the island. Well done ! A special mention for the room cleanliness, Absolutely Spotless ! Things to improve in my opinion : 1) just a bit more attention around the main pool regarding hygiene and cleanliness, especially the little side tables of the sunbeds and Gazebo and also look out for garbage and towels left/fallen behind the flowers/garden. 2) The food during the evening meals, although is good quality, needs more guidance through and better presentation and positioning and definitely the sweets need a fridge, you can not have for example mango panna cotta that ends up drinkable as a liquid because of the heat and lack of fridges ! Really considering to pay another visit if and when the food details improve. Thank you All again for a fantastic and relaxing holiday ! MF & IF

Barefoot concept resort…One of the best experience in the Maldives! It is useless to describe the beauty of this island, beautiful as many other resorts we’ve stayed in Maldives, the pictures speak by themselves…But what makes it really stand out is the impeccable standards of service, to which they have raised the bar, and they have made it very difficult for others resorts to compete with. The genuine hospitality of the whole staff, and how they never make you feel like a burden, no matter what you ask for, or how demanding you are, is really inspiring. Special thanks to …our personal butler, Mohamed Arshad, as well as our Sunset Point bartender, just to name a few of the memorable staff who made our experience feel very personal. Just remember this: kickoff your sandals and enjoy Six Senses Kanuhura
