The St. Regis Maldives Vommuli Resort

We spent 5 days at this St. Regis Vommuli and it was outstanding. Detail to customer service was beyond anything we have ever experienced in our travels. Our Butler Haroon was outstanding and you can tell he and his room steward Asif take pride in their work. I can't go on enough about how they attended to us for every detail of our trip. Kim had hurt her back a day before the trip and the first couple days were a little slow for her. Haroon suggested a spa treatment of Wetsu (no sure of spelling) plus we had a regular spa treatment planned. It all helped and Kim was much better. Haroon and Asif made sure to celebrate my 60th Birthday as well with treats and room decoration. Haroon knew I was a retired from Deputy Sheriff and added a touch to the Birthday Wishes they made in the bathtub. The resort total staff makes you feel like family and are very friendly and welcoming and take care of your every need. Sinan one of the waiters at Alba restaurant on our final day at breakfast just before we were to get up and leave brought out a desert with chocolate writing on the plate saying see you soon as a way of thanking us and welcoming us back soon. What a classy touch. The food everyday was outstanding and plenty of it. If you go, make sure to do the outside on the beach Indian Ocean night. More food and Deserts than you can eat. Amazing how they set this beautiful night up on the beach with tables, lighting and great service. Of course the views are outstanding. As for the spa, all we can say is WOW outstanding spa. Elvira and Vadee were excellent and you won't be disappointed. I see why their Spa and services are rated so highly. St. Regis Maldives will make this a trip you won't forget and will want to come back to. I would like to give them credit for all the communication ahead of the trip to help make your trip arrival and departure as easy as can be. We used the CIP service at Male' Velana airport. They met us at the bottom of the steps and quickly took us to an awaiting vehicle and to a private immigration area then quickly to their private lounge and provided food and drinks while they took care of your immigartion and luggage. Once they secured and cleared that a St. Regis Bulter came and took us straight over with our luggage in a private van to the Seaport and checked us in and stayed with us until our departure. What a smooth and seamless process. We were going to be taken to the St. Regis Private lounge but our sea plane was ready for us ahead so that was good for a quick start. Upon arrival at St. Regis the staff and our butler was awaiting the 14 guests on the plane at the dock waving and welcoming us to the island. Upon departure it was the same thing only they received us from the seaplanes and took us straight to the St. Regis lounge where we were offered more food and drinks until they took us to the airport and were received by the CIP staff who took care of us u

Excellent customer experience, clean facilities, different dinning options and restaurants to choose from, great dive center and water sports activities. Beautiful island and very friendly staff, extremely focused on customer experience.

Top level. I was thinking for a long time if there was anything I would improve in this resort but the only thing that comes to my mind is that I was missing an analog alarm clock 😂 really, the hotel has it ALL. Ourstandingly beautiful villas with the most comfortable beds, a lot of old palm trees and other greenry that is large and solid and make the island seem natural, absolutely fantastic cuisine (each restaurant was a treat), staff that reads your mind and makes you feel like you're the only guest on the island (our butler Nazym was like a real life fairy - never have I met anyone more devoted to anything. This woman is an angel), and most of all, house reef is spectacular! We have been diving in mamy atolls in the Maldives, so far Anantara in Baa Atoll had the most beautiful reef and now St Regis turned out to be also beautifully preserved, with great coral structures that we haven't seen so rich and colourful for many years now, loads of white and black tip sharks, nurse sharks, millions of finy fish and turtles - truly a gem. I will definitely dream of coming back there. One of the top for me!

We came here for our honeymoon and everything was above and beyond our expectations. Our butler Abounab, went above and beyond with every detail. It was truly an impecable experience starting from our arrival to the last minute on the island. When we come back, we expect him to be our butler again!

I’ll start with the pros about this resort and finish with the cons My transfer at the airport and seaplane terminal was absolutely seamless. At the resort my favorite things were the following: the breakfast buffet at Alba was phenomenal. The selection, quality and service were phenomenal. It was what I would expect from the st Regis Maldives. My next favorite thing was the daily morning yoga class. I was lucky enough to have Amrutha (spelling) as my yoga teacher each morning during my stay. She is an amazing yoga instructor, even more amazing than the yoga instructors I encountered during a recent visit to multiple 5 star resorts in Bali. The last of my favorite experiences was the spa experiences at Iridium by my massage therapist Elle. There are no words as to how perfect her touch was. Now on to the negatives experienced during my stay. First of all I couldn’t understand why the main beach in front of Alba is full of rocks when you enter the water. There was nothing fun or luxurious about walking on these rocks to get into the water. On my last day I wanted to enjoy my last moments on the beach . Unfortunately the people next to me were smoking cigars which blew over towards me. On top of the smoking, they were using multiple electronic devices to play video games, which were very loud. Definitely made for a not so relaxing beach experience. I wasn’t sure if the smoking policy so I dealt with it. Next , the resort was a little pushy with the gratuity. I was horrified when at the end of my COMPLIMENTARY morning yoga class I was handed a black leather folio with a receipt in it. It was given to me so I could tip my yoga instructor. While I do understand why this was necessary I still was shocked with the practice. I have never experienced being asked for a tip at a complimentary class. For all the money I was spending I thought I could get at least one thing for free. My overall impression was that the service provided at this resort is not genuine. There was a complete lack of warmth. One evening I went to orientale for dinner and the first person I encountered seemed to be a chef dressed in all black. I was traveling solo so I asked for a table for 1. I had a reservation. Without asking me he informed me the restaurant was sold out. I didn’t understand what this was about. I was later explained to by the manager Hassan that there was a misunderstanding. There was no misunderstanding. I believe I was somehow profiled as someone not belonging there ( probably because I was a solo male of Indian origin ). I was horrified by this encounter . I also had a similar encounter at Alba for breakfast. I was waiting in line to be seated. When the server came he helped the white couple behind me. Let’s just say I was again horrified. The staff should probably be educated as to how they shouldn’t profile guests based on race. I am sure that a Caucasian male would never have experienced this. I believe some butlers are
