Hotel Amaraigua – All Inclusive – Adults Only

Definitely not a 4 star.....pictures on trip adviser are old. Lovely welcome upon arrival with a glass of fizz. Staff were lovely and food was OK.... alot of pork though. Cleanliness of hotel not great you can't see through the glass on your balcony as I don't think they've ever been cleaned. Also Don't sit under the tree outside in entertainment area as you get covered in sap and bird poo! All chairs and tables out there are all sticky from sap too. Entertainment was OK. Room was nice heard a few guests had mouldy rooms. I don't think the floor ever got cleaned in rooms either while we was there. Never saw staff check pool levels throughout the day and there was bits in it. Hotel has very thin walls. It was very noisy early in morning you can hear everything. Do dont stay here if you want a lie in. And the sound of train going past all day is noisy too as the railway is literally outside the hotel. Don't get a taxi from airport to here as they will sting you and take you long way round. If you do though don't pay anymore than €130 and it should only take you 55 mins not an hour and half. The hotel Don't cater very much for English.... its all French and Spanish people that are more welcome. The amount of males coming out the ladies toilets were ridiculous...... knew they were using them leaving seats up and not flushing. Toilets weren't very clean either. Alot of corners cut in this hotel.

Unfortunatelly a really bad experience. The hotell is awfull and the smell is ...i can't find the words,you couldn't stay inside. The services were so so but honestlly ypu will not receive the mainly services...there is no cleaning in the room,they don't change the towels...if you don't have slippers you could not walk into the room is really dirty. So what is written on the their webb is nothing true so please be aware about this. The food is acceptable but...you have only 4 dishes that you can choose off...but is eatable...so anyway,i feel sorry that i choosed this hotel and it was the most awfull trip that i could choose. So once more time i say,definitevelly is not a 4 stars hotell,maybe i can give 1 stars.

Basic. Not a 4 star hotel Terrible smell of sewage in the lounge/bar area and in the room. Food was good and the self service bar was also nice. Friendly staff but hotel is not very clean. Again the smell is absolutely awful. Pool area is nice and train station is close by.

If you want a quiet holiday dont come here, only has 2 floors and the noise in corridors is unbelievable, a group of about 12 guests constantly banging doors and shouting, nothing being done by management....Food ok and nice selection. Pool small and area needs face lift.... Entertainment and bar area for drinks at night very shabby... Reception and dining area staff very nice. But if you come a minute outside times alotted for dining you wont get food... Location good, but right next to railway line. Definitely not 4star.

The location of the hotel is great. Easy access to the sea and nearby places. The room... I don't know what it is but the smell was horrible. Everytime you enter the room it just hits your nose. No matter how long you keep your window/door open, it just didn't go away. The cleanliness wasn't not the best either. The food was great with plenty of drinks.

After reading some of the reviews we were a little worried, but as soon as we arrived staff were so welcoming and helpful we requested a late check out which was 35€ , I’m a fussy eater but there was plenty of choice of food , could help yourself to spirits beers and soft drinks (we took our own Starbucks drink cups and staff had no issue with us using them so would definitely recommend taking them) room was clean and tidy , towels changed everyday, entertainment was good everyone seemed to join in, and bonus about the hotel it’s right on the beach.

Best bit, it's right on the beach..we spent most of our 4 day trip back n' fore the all inclusive bar to a little spot right by the waves...and the beach is quiet! It's lovely. Hotel and rooms are very clean, occasional smell of drains in the corridoor (we read that on other reviews) but our room was lovely, clean and fresh, with a great view of the sea. Food is what you expect, but good variety and plenty of it. No queues! The all inclusive bar is AMAZING! literally help yourself and not watered down! But 10/10 to the staff. All friendly, welcoming and soooo hard working! The place is spotless! Enjoy!

What a FANTASTIC hotel!! Two weeks in September, great weather, food was excellent and the staff were AMAZING especially Marina on reception, so very helpful, Frank (maybe) and Jonathan on bar duties, great fun to be had. Herman was an excellent DJ and entertainer. Rooms very comfortable. Can't wait to get back next year!!!

For the price we paid this is an excellent hotel. Although listed as a 4star it is more a 3 star I would say. The rooms are lovely and spacious, beds very comfortable, rainwater shower so nice and air con works well. Food - Although can get repetitive ( as all inclusive hotels do) there is always something to eat. Breakfast has everything you need, hot or cold. Yes there is a subway to get across the road but that’s the price you pay for being directly on the beach!! No you are not allowed to take your sunbeds on the beach, my thoughts about this is that they do not have the staff to hunt them down and bring them all back to the hotel. You can hire a sun bed about 50 yards away. Pool feels cold when you first get in but I found it really refreshing as we are still here and it’s very hot (8th October) Yes they serve drinks in plastic cups but I can’t see a problem with that. Yes the entertainment goes on until 11.30pm so if you are early to bed people - request a room on the outside. No tea or coffee making equipment in the room but I took a travel kettle so we were fine. I also noted all the bad reviews about this hotel but if you are paying 3star prices, don’t expect 5* luxury. We flew into Barcelona and the transfer is about 2 hours, if we came again I would look to fly into Gerona. To sum up, this is a small ( I would say ) 3 star adult only hotel and to reiterate, for the price we paid, a perfect stay. Oh , and I should mention, it’s right on the beach, just walk through the hotel gate and you’re on the beach ( I was reliably informed the sea was colder than the pool. One other thing to mention is the staff are very friendly and helpful. I sometimes wonder when reading reviews - are we staying at the same hotel others describe.
