The ideal low cost getaway to the Mamanuca islands. If you are a backpacker or surfer wanting a comfortable place to stay, without the bells and whistles of the luxury resorts, then this is the place for you.
Staff are friendly and accomodating. Walk straight off the beach into the most beautiful snorkelling reef.
Cabins cute and breezy (no air con -wasn’t needed in my stay)
Breakfast is buffet. Portions for lunch and dinner modest. Enough for me but if you’re a big eater considering bringing snacks or 2 min noodles just in case.

One of the best accomodation I ever had in vacations. The staff was so kind and happy, the food was good, the excursions were fun and the customers are good vibe too.
Book it without thinking :)
Response from Property: Bula and vinaka vakalevu for your amazing review! 🌴 We're so happy to hear you enjoyed everything—from the peaceful island setting and breathtaking views from your room to the food, bar, and friendly team. It means a lot to know you appreciated the relaxed atmosphere and personal feel of our small resort—it’s exactly what we aim to offer.. And yes, being just an hour from Naisoso Private port makes it feel like a true escape without going too far! Thanks again for your kind words we’d love to welcome you back to paradise in the soonest time!Vinaka & Kind RegardsTeam Res

Beautiful location but the resort itself is looking a lot more run down and unloved than expected. It feels like it's aimed at surfers and budget travellers. Rooms are basic, motel style but the bed was comfortable and clean enough. Meals are included and filling but there's no choice, just a plate of whatever the kitchen staff decide...usually some form of chicken with rice or potato. Breakfast is buffet style and pretty good but only instant coffee.
There are trips available to nearby islands, snorkel areas, surfing places and resorts which is good as there is not much to do at Funky Fish apart from sitting around the pool, going in the pool or playing uno
Staff work hard to keep the guests happy but the place needs some love and money spent on it

Based on my experience traveling to over sixty countries in more than a decade, and as a Ctrip Diamond member, I advise anyone reading this review: (I'm someone who's easygoing and has never given a bad hotel review before) This resort is not worth it. I thought that since Likuliku and Six Senses are both on Malolo Island, even if this resort's facilities were worse, the sea would still be like the one in Fiji in the pictures… However, reality exceeded my expectations. I had anticipated poor facilities, but I didn't expect it to be this bad. A few pitifully small, makeshift prefab rooms, each about 6 square meters, barely enough room for a bed and all my luggage. The bathroom was locked, the sheets were stained, and the facilities were dilapidated. Then there was the yellow sand beach and muddy sea, which completely shattered my perception of Fiji. The beach was only about 200 meters long – that was basically your activity area for the next few days – with barren mountains behind it… I wondered if I was here for a vacation or to be imprisoned. Then there was the eerie atmosphere, like a *** club, making for a terrible experience… I promptly switched islands and resorts, only to be told the room fee was non-refundable (I hadn't even checked in, the bathroom was useless, and escaping the island seemed more urgent than paying the fee). So: I'm advised against it!

If you come to Fiji just to see the sea and have a limited budget, you can come to this hotel. Many people who stay here come here to surf. The sea is right at the door and the food tastes good.

Stayed for 2 nights and felt that the house was clean. There was no hot water for showering on the first day, but there was hot water on the second day. The living environment is good, you can see the sea from the window, and the hotel has good greenery. The food was generally good. I had four main meals, one was simple, and the other three were rich and self-service, with meat and vegetables, moderately salty. Breakfast is a little simple, with juice, milk, bread slices, etc. You don't have to pay extra for the fried eggs you want. Drinking water is provided for each meal and is provided by yourself. The service attitude is also OK.
