This is a review of two halves Firstly the check in and spa ,met by lovely colleague who checked us in and a lovely man who showed us around (Steven i think) , the spa was amazing (just a suggestion although we couldnt check in till 3pm why not let people use spa from 12pm as we would have had lunch and numerous drinks and spent maybe another £40-50 in that 3 hours). The pool was 1st class and saunas excellent, all in a lovely chilled ambiance to the place Now the not so good hence the 2 star review. Restaurant took our order 4 a drink and took 25 minutes for our bottle of wine to arrive to the table,Restaurant was quiet yet food was 35 minutes after seating before our order was taken. Food was poor quality ordered steak medium and it was rare, the peppercorn sauce was the worst ive ever tasted and like runny brown water, and the veg bland. Then when it came dessert we waiting again 20 minutes for a menu and when ordered after another 25 minute wait someone approached the table and told us it didn't print in the kitchen and asked us again what we had ordered , Faulty Towers springs to mind in the Restaurant. When dessert arrived the cheesecake was frozen solid and was inedible. We did complain and again Steven was 1st class and a credit to the place but the staff in the restaurant were clueless, half were dressed in trainers and no proper uniform and it was chaos. At check out the next day i noticed 2 other people complaining about the restaurant experience. After a 5 hr round trip for a treat for my wife we was very underwhelmed. Shame as the spa is superb.

Kathy and Steve gave us an outstanding welcome to their beautifully designed, atmospheric home on a quiet leafy street in this lovely town and no effort was spared in making our stay perfect. Apart from providing a lovely comfy bedroom (with a lovely view) and a delicious breakfast using the finest ingredients, Kathy went out of her way to give us much appreciated local insight to help us in our search for a future home in this beautiful area and made us feel totally at home. Her restaurant and pub recommendations were spot on too. We will look forward to visiting again in the future.

Excellent location. Good reception. Wedding party in full swing was fine. Sadly, the restaurant was closed which was disappointing as we were hoping to have a relaxing evening. Food was served in the bar and was not the standard you would expect at such an establishment but we had no choice as local restaurants were difficult to secure a booking so late in the day. Room was fine and staff excellent. Small problem with evening bar meal was avoidable. Although we booked a table on arrival using our room number, we received a call from reception the following day asking for payment - we explained that we were not due to leave until the following day and would settle the account immediately if required - which we did. Again not the level of expertise and communication you would expect from a 4 star hotel.
Premier Inn Malvern

I visit Malvern nearly every week due to work commitments and have the choice of hotels in the area and find myself coming back to the Premier Inn. It’s a great location, clean spacious rooms with comfortable beds and good food. However the real reason I come back is because of great atmosphere created by the team. Every one of them work hard to make your stay as comfortable as possible, always polite, friendly and enthusiastic. For someone that works away from home a lot I wouldn’t want to stay anywhere else.

A friend and I stayed in the twin room, Morgan, for two nights and really enjoyed our stay. Plenty of parking in the quiet side road next to the house. Liz greeted us warmly on arrival and there was home made cake waiting for us to enjoy in our room. The house is spotlessly clean and attractively furnished. Our beds were comfy and the shower had good pressure. David is the chef and breakfast offered plenty of choice of cereal, fresh fruit and cooked options. The first morning I had smoked salmon with scrambled egg, the second morning I had veggie sausages, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes and scrambled egg. Delicious home baked bread with marmalade. Good coffee too. There is a residents’ lounge packed with books on walking in the area along with maps to borrow. There was also a fridge for our use and freshly filled bottles of water provided for each room. Barnards Green is just under a mile’s walk from Malvern town centre and is blessed with plenty of independent shops as well as a couple of small supermarkets so everything can be bought locally. David lent us some walking directions up to Worcestershire Beacon and back - a 5 mile circular route with spectacular views over the local countryside. Well worth doing. We look forward to returning.
