Treherne House & the Malvern Retreat

Mark and Alex are fabulous hosts. The room was spotlessly clean, and the bed was very comfortable. There’s a great menu choice for breakfast, I tried various options and all were delicious. The guest house has beautiful gardens, which helps create a relaxed atmosphere. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and would highly recommend Treherne House.

I don't usually write reviews but my stay at Treherne House was so terrific, I had to spread the word. This is a beautiful Victorian house in restful, secluded gardens, with a lovely conservatory and outdoor seating areas. It's close to all the great places available in the Malvern Hills area. My room was elegant, classic Country House style with every comfort in place and scrupulously clean. The only noise to be heard were the birds singing on the trees outside my window. Breakfast had a wide choice of healthy and beautifully presented food. Great value for money. Warm, friendly, relaxed hosts who really go the extra mile to make sure their guests have a great stay. Thank you so much. I'll be back!

A great couple of nights stay with Mark and Alexandra at their stunning home. Bursting with period features, super space, comfy rooms and heavenly beds. Breakfasts cooked to order with care and attention. Great location as there’s a super pub within a 5 minute walk; Great Malvern about 25ish minutes away. Handy for everything yet very quiet. We were at the front yet heard no traffic noise. Would love to be there in the summer to enjoy their interesting garden. The honesty bar was a lovely touch too (& tried both nights!).

Wow! Came here for a much needed relaxing winter break and did not disappoint! The room was luxurious, warm, cosy and exceeded all expectations and breakfast was delicious Thankyou to mark & Al just the most perfect hosts.

The Hotel & Room was amazing, they had thought of everything in fine detail. The hosts were so friendly & couldn’t do enough for you. Would definitely visit again.

An amazing and relaxed place to stay ! Wonderful property with lovely rooms and facilities and a great location with a walk into Malvern. The hospitality was first class, with local knowledge and recommendation that really made our stay. The beautiful breakfast was stunning and would highly recommended the omelette. What to say about Treherene House and its warm hearted proprietors, Alex & Mark Soden? It’s difficult to find the words to do full justice to our experience at this lovely guesthouse near the picturesque village of Great Malvern. Let me try. Magical, relaxing, restful, carefree, abundant, pleasurable, satisfying, perfect. I could go on. Alex & Mark have a wealth of experience in looking after their guests going back decades, although they retain their youthful charm, warmth and vitality. And that experience shows. Everything down to the last detail is arranged for their guests’ optimal comfort and satisfaction. The welcome is as if you were old friends, the rooms are warm and comfortably beautiful, the breakfast is the very best and the service is always with a smile so sincere as to be disarming. And were I able to fully describe the beauty and history of the local area - with the gorgeous Malvern Hills on your doorstep, interesting and welcoming local shops to while away the hours before coffee - I could invoke famous residents of the area including Edward Elgar, Charles Darwin and J R R Tolkien to echo their praises of this beautiful paradise. A short break at Treherene House is just what we needed. As well as thanking Alex & Mark again for their fine hospitality, I take this opportunity to strongly suggest you pay them a visit. My review is easily 5-star, or every star that’s going - and I couldn’t recommend this establishment more highly.

Im glad we came here instead of for example, the malvern spa hotel because it's very intimate with only 3 rooms available plus the landlords accommodation. On our 1st night we were the only guests. The hosts looked after us well and cooked a delicious freshly cooked breakfast in the morning. Spacious room and lovely grounds. Highly recommended for trips to the Malvern hills and showground

From the moment we arrived at Treherne House we felt at home. Alex, Mark and the gorgeous new addition to their family, Pixie, the cutest and best-behaved Spaniel ever, greeted us with the warmest welcome. Our room was beautifully decorated and furnished, and had everything we could want for. Alex went above and beyond during our stay, including making my husband natural lemon & honey drinks at breakfast, as he came down with a cold, and even left Lemsips in our room for him. Nothing was too much trouble, and all the little touches made us feel special and valued. The breakfasts were delicious and cooked with high-quality produce. The location is great for exploring Malvern and beyond in this lovely part of England. We work in the tourism industry and have high standards, so these comments are not made lightly by us. It's no wonder Alex & Mark have won so many awards, all of which are thoroughly deserved for the hard work, love and passion they put into their business. I'm sure we'll be back, and we both wish you the continued success you deserve.
