Bagan King Hotel

Lived here for nearly a whole month with pleasure and satisfaction always due to the grand facilities & splendid service. And also for its convenience accesses to nearly all sightseeing spots in Mandalay , it’s the best place for the trip in this city. For all, this i a special memory of my own Burmese Days, a Five Stars one.

The staff—including the receptionist, bellboy, restaurant crew, and bartenders—were all very kind and helpful. The room was good, but the bathroom toiletries were old and mostly expired (especially the shaving cream). They really need to replace these items. Also, I loved the 6th-floor restaurant, although the breakfast selection was quite limited.

A good hotel in Mandalay. Friendly staff. interesting and unusual Indian themed decor that extended to the rooms. Rooftop restaurant with good view of mandalay from the sheer balcony. Great shower. The highlight was the low priced but absolutely excellent food on offer, which is unusual for a mandalay hotel. the portion was gigantic and was super tasty. I was honestly blown away by the food. The girl on the desk was friendly, helpful, and spoke great English.

Cozy place, staff are nice. Always ask the reception to help you with guide and tuktuk rides as outside I got scammed big time. They put local noodles and chips on the fridge and did not mention that these are extra charge. Hence the transparency was zero. And they charged me x3

This is a beautiful hotel. We loved the 6th floor restaurant and bar. It was lovely to get a free cocktail at happy hour. Breakfast had lots of choices. The room was spacious. We loved the bathroom decor. The staff were very helpful. The lady at reception spoke good English.

The staff were polite although when I had dinner in the upstairs restaurant, they wanted me to finish quickly as it was past 9pm. The room I booked was pleasantly decorated but small. There was no shower screen in the bathroom and there was no robes, despite that being noted as available. BUT .... most importantly, I had a business meeting at Mandalay Airport ahead of my flight back to Yangon. The meeting was scheduled for 12pm. I asked for the hotel to call me a taxi at 10:20. They told me how much it would cost. I said okay - they said to wait in the lobby. At 10:50 the taxi had not arrived, so I asked the desk staff to check. They had not called for a taxi at all. I again asked - the taxi arrived at 11:25. It took an hour to get to the airport - slightly longer than usual - so I arrived a half an hour after the person I was supposed to meet had disembarked and left the airport - the meeting did not take place . . . because the taxi I had asked for was not called. It could only possibly have been worse had the deadline been for a flight - I would have missed that as well! Needless to say, for whatever else the Bagan King Hotel might have going for it - not much, frankly - it's service was awful. Should I return to Yangon I will avoid it like the plague. I suggest you do likewise.
