I visited Sreeniketanam Lodge at Mantralayam on 13.06.2026 with my family and, unfortunately, had a disappointing experience. The room was not clean when we checked in. There was dust on the floor that it was sticking to our feet. We had to go downstairs twice and request housekeeping before someone came to clean. Even then, the cleaning was done hastily with a worn-out broom and the room still did not feel properly cleaned. The bed had visible stain marks, the curtains were so thin that they hardly served any purpose, and the overall condition of the room did not match the price charged. The black patched AC was working with open wirings.. Basic amenities such as complimentary water, soap, towels, and Wi-Fi were not provided. After the room & service what to say about bathroom, forget it, it was there with jetspray on your left. Won't say more. What surprised me the most was that I paid ₹2,617 for one night through Make my Trip, deluxe AC room it seems...while the lodge register showed a much lower room rate ₹1,850. In my opinion, considering the room condition and lack of amenities, the room was worth ₹500–₹800 at best. Considering location, chalo pay ₹1,000-₹1,200. The only positives were the location, which is very close to the temple, and the availability of hot water. Apart from that, the stay did not meet even basic expectations. I am sharing this review honestly so that other travelers can make an informed decision.
