The George & Heart House

Attentive ,helpful friendly staff when we stayed the night here . They made a real fuss of us . Really enjoyed our stay.

Stayed here with my friend for a girls weekend. The hotel is an old building which is really cute there’s a little snug upstairs where you can make tea and coffee and use the mini bar. The rooms are quaint and the staff were nice. However it’s not fat friendly I’m a 24 and everything was small the furniture is all antique and lovely but I didn’t quite trust it. My partner is regular sized and we would have struggled having to share the bed. The bed felt like a pull out sofa it was a bit flimsy feeling and for the price of the rooms I was surprised there was there was no closet to hang my clothes only pegs on the wall. The stairs are also steep and because it’s an old building the floors are really uneven I’m clumsy and I tripped up a few times. The front door was also half the the size of a normal door I had to turn sideways to get though and drag my bag behind me. I appreciate I’m bigger but if you’re tall or older or not very mobile you would struggle. Plus side everything was clean and pretty. Nice little place but small and not very accessible are key words.

We (partner and I) stayed at the George and Heart for one night over the bank holiday and it was just gorgeous. Such a beautiful quaint building, and you can tell they have put so much thought and care into their customers - including personalised playlists for each of the bedrooms! If you’re looking for somewhere cute and cozy to stay in Margate, I couldn’t recommend more.

What an amazing place! We were four friends from Norway staying in the Heritage Suite. We loved every minute of it! The hotel is beautiful, the food amazing and the staff are so friendly. The fact that one bedroom has a bathtub is so cool, the Suite is huge and so beautifully decorated. Will absolutely come back one day!

Sunday lunch cooked like home made! Wonderful vegetables, extra gravy piping hot and delicious. Friendly efficient staff i. Lovely old coach house. Check out the unique bedrooms individually tastefully and imaginatively decorated, you can hire the whole hotel ! Could not recommend more highly .

Booked out the hotel rooms for my sister's hen party and it was a rip-roaring success. The venue is gorgeous, all the rooms are quirky, comfy and clean! The party suite is gorgeous with everything you could need. The staff, especially Jamie the head of housekeeping, are great, friendly & helpful. Perfect mix of privacy and intimacy whilst being in a very popular buzzing pub! They have a gorgeous sunny garden that you can use, a private dining room, and are literally 5 seconds from the sea for your hangover dip! We loved it, and it completely blew our expectations out of the water. would highly recommend.

We booked two nights here via **********, and were just allocated a room - so were very surprised to find there was no en-suite and that we shared the bathroom with the room next door. ********** did not make this clear on their website, although on the hotel's own website it does state that some rooms are without a bath/shower or toilet. Decor throughout is 'shabby chique' and quirkily ornate - doubtless very lovely to those into that style, but not for me. If you like quaint and quirky you'll love this place (unless you want your own loo and shower), and clearly other reviewers adored it - but I certainly didn't. On the plus side, the staff are lovely, there's a nice breakfast buffet, and you're well located for Margate's thriving old town and the Turner Contemporary.
