Walpole Bay Hotel

What a gem of a place. A warm welcome followed by the most perfect plate of finger sandwiches on the flower drenched veranda. This is not just a welcoming hotel, it is an experience that is so lacking in our modern lives. An original one off place, family run and full of charm and character. A one off and all the more special because of that fact. We will return. Thank you to all the staff. We had such a lovely time.

This amaizing hotel and museum is an absolute gem and I would advise anyone who has not been to put it on their bucket list. You will step back in time amongst the antiquities which adorn every nook and cranny of this fantastic building. Thank you Jane for preserving this wonderful hotel for everyone to enjoy.

Third visit to this hotel and absolutely love it, a step back in time but in a good way, wonderful staff and service and Jane is the greatest hostess. This hotel is an absolute must visit.

Weird, quirky, fabulous hotel. We had a lovely time here and would definitely return. The second floor is full of memorabilia which is very cool. If you like a more traditional hotel that's a bit different, this is the place to go. Just a short walk into Margate Town centre, so the location is great. The breakfast is really good, we were impressed with the quality of the meat We'll definitely come back!

Had a lovely couple of nights at The Walpole Bay Hotel. All staff warm and friendly. Situated 25 mins coastal walk to Margate old town so perfect for us. The hotel has a quiet grandeur and elegance. Stayed in room 205 with fantastic sea view, comfy bed and small but perfectly formed bathroom. Good breakfast with best scrambled eggs ever (other options available). Can highly recommend!

I booked a cream tea with my little one for Mother’s Day. The staff were SO kind, asked her name, set her out her own little place at the table with a highchair, chatted with her, blew bubbles for her and offered to take a picture of us. It was exactly like how I hoped it would be. That aside, it was the best cream tea I’ve ever had and it meant my daughter was introduced to a proper cream tea in the best way (she LOVED it). For how lush it was, it was an excellent price as well. Thank you for making my Mother’s Day special!

I went here for afternoon tea with my wife, And wow! They met all expectations! We often swim at the sea pool just below, and it is very veryt near the start of Margate Parkrun, so for us is in a great location. Selection of tea was great (my wife had a lovely Lemon and Ginger, and I had a wonderful Jasmin pearl tea). The sandwiches were freshly made, there was a good portion of cake, and the scones and cream were absolutely delicious! Highly recommend this for an afternoon tea. I have previously stayed here when travelling for business and had a great stay then too!

Once you have got your head around the fact that this hotel is meant to look like a time, it's an enjoyable step back in time. Afternoon cream tea was just like the 1970s with jam and cream to match. Afterwards, I watched an old episode of The Hotel Inspector and they seem to have ignored most of the advice. But, it's still going.

This Hotel deserves 4 stars its perfect i can not fault it Breakfast super quality. Staff are polite and friendly We will definetly come back in the summer. Chrissy and Phill room 314
