Our family of 3 had a great stay at Premier Inn Margate for our short overnight trip. Conveniently located next to the train station, we were able to leave our bags to go explore the town and surrounds. Check in was smooth and the room was spacious, comfortable with everything we needed. Bonus was the on-site restaurant which had a great 2 course dinner and breakfast deal and drinks deals which made it much easier for us especially with a young toddler. Loved our stay and great service from the team there!

Well it all started going in to our hotel room . The room was fine but the tv did not work correctly and was reported that same day ( mon) bear in mind we did not go there to watch tv but do chill watching after being out.but could not really watch it as one of speakers broken. Tue it was reported again and was told waiting for an engineer to sorted it same on wed and and Thurs still no joy so had to put up with it as we were living Friday they did not really seem bothered about it. And the breakfasts well they did not care about that as things people were always waiting for or the stuff was cold tables they did not make sure cleared straight away so someone else could then sit at a table. Back in the hotel room the bathrooms could be better with mould and nasty stuff growing down the plug hole of the sink in the room we had. If all the was sorted I would have liked the hotel and would go back but at the minute I dont think I will sorry folks.

Staff were rude, charged us for early check in, which we pre-booked in march only for them to say when we got there, that no- one had checked out yet. Don't charged for a service you can not provide!! We missed our event because we had to wait over an hour for a room. The staff were not polite about it either and were very rude and moaning that they had a double for us when we booked a twin room expecting me to sleep on a sofa! For the £140 i paid i wanted a bed and to check in when i was told at booking the room in march that i could check in at 11am, paid extra for it and then got charged another £15 on the day for an early check we never got. So £170 later, we missed our event, the police came to deal with noise and fighting and there was rowdy people just outside the hotel it was a genuinely god awful hotel and the staff were extremely put out by us paying to stay and didn't hide it either. Worse place ever!! would not recommend!! Then when i complained and asked for a refund because we had to leave it was so bad, so never actually staid in the room, Premier inn gave me £82 refund, which didn't cover the non stay or double early check in we paid for, felt insulted and very ripped off!!

Excellent stay, very happy with the hotel location, the cleanliness and comfort of the room and the breakfast selection on offer.

I'm a disabled traveller both mobility and visually impaired. I booked an accessible room, I also stated when booking that I would need help evacuating in the event of an emergency. There's no check-in desk anymore you're meant to self check-in, I can't do that because I can't see the screens but someone did help. I wasn't given any safety instructions like I usually am when I stay in hotels. No information about how I would get out in the event of an emergency or where I would need to go to. I was at first put in a separate block across the car park next to the railway line which isn't staffed, I asked if I could change rooms due to the fact that I can barely walk and my vision is terrible and I could not be expected to keep walking to and fro from one building to another, which would mean that I also wouldn't be able to use the restaurant. I suffer with a lot of pain all over my body and have terrible asthma along with the poor vision. I was told I couldn't change as there were no other rooms available. I would have thought it would have been common sense to put someone with my level of disability in the main block where all the staff were and all the facilities were, rather than being dumped as far away as possible. I went over to the other block to my room and there was just one small window looking at the railway line's railings and a bush. It felt very isolated. I would not have felt safe there, anyone could have been hanging around outside, it wasn't fenced off for guests only. There was a phone on the wall in the corridor to call reception, I tried it twice but no-one answered. I did then find a member of staff and asked if there was a manager I could speak to. The manager came over and just pointed out how busy they were, like I didn't know, and gave me a lecture on how I could phone up and ask for anything I wanted. I said I couldn't be expected to phone a national number and hang around on a phone line anytime I needed to ask something, so she gave me a more local number but I shouldn't have needed to be making phone calls, the facilities are there, but seemingly just not for me to use. At one point she seemed to be raising her voice at me so I politely asked her not to. I felt like I had to make apologies for being disabled. And I don't have to do that because it's not my fault. She did then upgrade me to a premier plus room which was in the main building, which i very much appreciated. Which proved that there were other rooms available, I did offer to pay the extra cost for this room but wasn't required to. This room was perfect and comfortable but sadly I was so upset over all the fuss and bother that I spent most of the evening crying and feeling like a nuisance. I couldn't wait to leave the next day. The restaurant was very nice however and the food was good, and it's well situated for the train station and the beach. I'm not likely to book with Premier inn again, I'll stick with Travelodge in future.

This Premier Inn is located right next door to the train station making it an ideal place to stay if using public transport, although parking is available. Our room was in a separate annex from the main hotel. Ground floor, nice and quiet with excellent aircon (unsure if main hotel has aircon). Sadly, despite being at the great British seaside PI have seen fit not to allow the windows to be opened in the annex (they can be in the main building in some rooms) to get some fresh air, very poor. The bed was comfortable, room was clean and fresh. Shower could have done with more power. Wifi was down to the usual PI poor standard barely loading plain emails. The hotel has a bar/eaterie but we were at the seaside so we sampled the restaurants on the promenade. There is a small supermarket only 5 minutes walk away for topping up supplies. If PI would just take into account the small irritations of windows and wifi then this, along with most other PIs would get higher marks.
