We have read the negative feedback on certain reports, however we can only be truthful on our own past experiences, from the moment we arrived till departure we were excepted as any other member of the public, the hotel is a little dated but don’t be put off, spotless cleaning of rooms daily, bedding changing regularly, clean towels everyday, shower superb, reception staff are amazing so helpful probably high light of holiday nothing is to much trouble thank you guys everybody concerned,we stayed in deluxe rooms with pool outside rooms…excellent would recommend, only critique is 125 steps to top however reception do not mind taking you up in minibus, food is good value for money not one complaint if anything they were short staffed at busy time, all the waiters were excellent and always obliged to help, the manager of food hall is in our opinion is trying his best as he can,the issue we think it is he does not speak a lot of English and gets frustrated so he does avoid English, but he is very busy so it looks bad on him however we feel some of the remarks are unfair and feel he does a good job..the beach is 3 minutes away, always a life guard on duty, minibar’s 1 min away sea is superb, you definitely need sea shoes very rocky, there is not much around 15euro in taxi to Tropea or 2.5 euro from Zambrone train station,in detail the hotel is great for relaxation like most holidays it is down to the individual we cannot fault it so relaxing, value for money…definitely, thank you kalafiortia for 2 weeks of peace well done we will and have looked at kalafiortia resorts really good value for money and Italian weather great, this is our truthful opinion…thank you Italy….Ciao till next time 😎😎😎

Definitely NOT 4 star! There is nothing to do here other than sunbathe, nothing to see or do nearby, one small bar on site which is expensive, one restaurant with abrupt/unfriendly staff serving poor quality food from behind plastic screens so you can't help yourself to what you want. The deluxe sea view rooms are up in the hills, the views are fabulous, but you have to get a mini bus to your room or risk the 130 steps which are dangerous, these rooms have no Wi-Fi, no tea/coffee making facilities and uncomfortably hard beds. The seats by the bar are all hard plastic, so there is nowhere comfortable to sit and relax in the evenings. If it rains, there is nowhere to shelter other than your room. Overall, very disappointing holiday.

We liked the resort lovely beach, staff at reception was lovely friendly and helpful thanks to axel and Patricia. the but is at restaurant and bar staff was only very nice to italien customers only dare to ask extra little portion of food cos it look like it was that it all you where given call this greedy place about food at bar care more about other staff then English customers what a shame for a nice resort this kind of attitude will not back here thank you

Everything from the resort to the staff were fantastic. The food was varied and fresh, everywhere was clean and tidy and the beach was perfect! So lovely and quiet in September to, it was exactly what we wanted and needed! The restaurant staff were very attentive and nothing was ever to much trouble! Tropea was an easy trip on the train, there in 10 mins and a lovely old town to look around. Italy has certainly won my heart and we will be back!

We were here in Sept 23 Entertainment wise was poor there was only evening entertainment on the stage for 1 night whilst we were there. We were advised that the hotel was winding down by the entertainment team so that was the reason for the lack of entertainment. They should not be winding down when they have guests in resort. Hotel rooms had drainage issues where the human waste was coming up through the shower and bidet this was not cleaned up for over 4 hours and stunk. My wife was subsistence ill for the following 24 hours. The pool area was grubby and could have done with a good clean. But worst of all at this resort was the attitude of the restaurant manager, never before have we experienced such a miserable and grumpy manager at a hotel like this one. His treatment of British tourists was shocking we were treated as second class citizens compared to the Italian and German guests. We were a party of 4 and we were shoved on to a small patio table yet on the next table there was a party of 4 German guests who were seated on a table twice the size of ours. When we asked to be seated in a table the same size the restaurant manager kept saying what’s up and then I advised the table was small and we wanted to be seated in the same size table as others he began to throw tables and chairs about whilst putting 2 tables together for us. His actions were embarrassing. He would also give more food to German and Italian guests even though they were only half board and we had paid for full board. The pavements are dangerous one woman fell on them whilst there and broke her wrist. The resort didn’t really care about it and didn’t even offer to carry her plates at meal times even though she was in a full arm cast. Breakfast was poor we ended up having half cooked toast every day Lunch and dinner were nice although a little more varied food would have been good. You are also restricted to 2 hrs for breakfast 1hr 15 mins for lunch and 1 hr 15 mins for dinner. If you were still in restaurant after this period you would be asked to finish and leave restaurant by mr happy restaurant manager. It was rushed and not nice having to rush your meals. It was changed to 1.5 hrs for dinner when a large German group arrived at the resort but this didn’t help as you were queuing more to be served your food as you were not allowed to self serve. You are allocated the same table for the duration of your stay. This resulted in more issues and table cloths were not cleaned frequently and at times were filthy We will not be returning to this resort and I hope management deal with the poor attitude of their restaurant manager.

Room good. The path ways around the rooms were cobble style and when we were there there was a lady that fell and broke her arm.One day the toilet got blocked and sewage then bubbled up in shower and sink and bidet. Had to request twice to get it looked at. Beach you need shoes as co**** sand and rocks in sea. Sharp drop where you can’t feel the bottom. Also you are allocated a sunbed that is yours for the duration of your stay. If you would like the front row sunbed it is at a cost of 6€ per person per day.Loads of fish though which was good. The man who ran us up the hill in the mini bus was good and reliable. Now the food/restaurant. There is a man who is head waiter who is the rudest person I have ever met in this environment. No eye contact at all and extremely rude. Although to the other guests who were predominantly German he was very polite to us (English) was very rude. Although my father In law is Italian and he was shockingly rude to him as well. Food very repetitive. Fresh fruit at breakfast would of been nice. On our first morning I had mold in the lid of my yogurt. All food is served to you so alot of queuing up . A special mention to the man who serves the pasta. Very nice smiley man. The meal times are short. Breakfast 7.30 -10 am, lunch 12.45-2pm and dinner 7.30-9pm. There was no adult entertainment on the stage at all during the two weeks we were there. In the bar area there was silly dances and songs for the younger guest. Lots of ants around the complex especially in the restaurant and in the rooms. Lots of mosquitoes too. Tourist tax is 3€ per night.

Really nice experience. We booked a room with a hot tub. The room and tub were both clean and the air con was very effective. The bed was king sized (plenty of space) and very comfortable. The hot tub was good quality with adjustable temperature, jets and lights - a lovely indulgence. The site itself was clean and staff were polite. We took full board so all food was prepaid and we received a 'drinks card' to open a tab on all drinks. The on-site bar was in a great location on the beach (perfect for watching the sun set next to Stromboli volcano) and the selection of cocktails was good. Limited choice on beer but the lager they served was enjoyable. Upon arrival we were assigned a dining table which was ours for the week. This was nice as it took away any stress of not being able to find a table. Breakfast, lunch and dinner were a buffet style served by the resort staff. Always a great selection of salad items. Regarding the hot dishes, there was always simple pasta and tomato sauce available alongside a number of more interesting dishes which changed each day. Most days, there was a vegetarian option (aside from tomato pasta) but not always. Staff were polite but occasionally struggled to understand English. I do not speak any Italian at all. Upon arrival, we were also assigned a lounger on the resort's section of the beach. Again, this was good as it guaranteed a space, even when busy. The beach was beautiful however do beware that the sand is quite course and painful to walk on in bare food. I resorted to wearing sandles/trainers when walking long distances down the beach for this reason. The sea was clean and highly enjoyable to swim in. The local town was quiet. There was quite a range of restaurants available however many of these did not fill up in the evenings. There were also some general health and safety issues around town such as trip hazards on poorly maintained pavements. Of course, this is beyond the responsibility of BV Kalafiorita Resort but does contribute to the holiday experience. I also noticed the increased frequency of litter/sewerage smell in all of the towns we visited when compared with the UK. Over all, a highly enjoyable holiday which perfectly fit the bill for a relaxing week away in the sun.

Firstly, let me say that this resort has potential to be so much more ( take a hint senior management ) . The staff on our arrival at reception were welcoming and friendly , thank you Gabriele et Al . They were very helpful and we were taken to our room, which was spacious and clean . The grounds around the resort are fine , pool a nice size , with ample sun beds . Unfortunately, this is when things started to go downhill ! On entering the restaurant we were allocated a table for the duration of our stay , and , without any help we had to find out what the food service situation was , everything is served to you , which resembled children queuing up for school dinners !! The meal times seemed a bit limited in time scale 07.45 - 10.00 breakfast ok . 12.45 - 1400 lunch . 19.45 - 21-00 evening meal ! Really ? Evening meal times should be an integral part of one’s holiday , this time allowance to enjoy a three course evening meal was ridiculous, as you were waiting to be served for a portion of the time allowed ! The pool was closed daily at 13.00- 15.30 !! Beach sun beds allocated for the week ! Even if there were plenty more free beds available in the sun , you couldn’t move ! It was certainly not a lazy relaxing weeks holiday in the Italy , that I’ve spent many years holidaying in ! Let me mention , that Antionio the bar man was , along with the reception staff and cleaners a credit to the resort ! It ends there . I’ve never felt so unwelcome in Italy before , but the restaurant manager ( Antonello ) is the rudest man I’ve ever met on holiday . He clearly showed no empathy or friendliness to ENGLISH guests, in fact the very opposite ! and it was very clear his preference was towards italian guests ! He never interacted with us once in the week , unless we had the temerity to ask for an extra glass of of wine or beer , which was greeted with a scowl ! On one occasion , he shouted at the bar person to not fill my ( very small) glass ! His clear and open favouritism towards italian guests was being noticed by other English couples , as we all realised something was very wrong and unfair at this hotel . This attitude was demonstrated by one or two of his staff , which I’m sure was by his xenophobic direction . Clearly, I will not be returning to this area , and am informing TUI by letter of complaint , that they should consider the suitability of the resorts that they acquire for their customers , given the treatment myself and my partner , along with other ENGLISH guests received at this resort. I would hope the hotel manager will take on board the constructive criticism I’ve compiled here after a great deal of thought and deliberation . The sunsets over Stromboli should be enjoyed not endured .
