Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara Safari Camp was nothing short of extraordinary — truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience that exceeded every expectation imaginable. From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel like family. Every single person went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect, and the level of hospitality and personal attention was unlike anything we have ever experienced. The accommodations were absolutely stunning — luxurious, elegant, and somehow still perfectly connected to the beauty and authenticity of the wild surrounding us. The camp itself felt like a true oasis in the middle of the Masai Mara. The food was exceptional from start to finish — every meal was gourmet quality and beautifully prepared. One of our favorite touches was that our incredible game driver set up breakfast for us in the bush each morning, allowing us to enjoy amazing meals surrounded by the breathtaking African landscape. And while nobody can ever guarantee wildlife sightings in the wild, we had unbelievably good fortune during our stay. We saw absolutely everything — the entire Big Five and so much more. Some moments felt straight out of a nature documentary: witnessing a leopard feeding on a fresh antelope kill and later seeing a hyena feeding on a hippo were experiences we will never forget. The grand finale was the unforgettable sundowner experience — a sunset happy hour in the bush complete with wine, scotch, Tusker beer, assorted cheeses, and spectacular views across the Mara. It was the perfect ending to magical days on safari. This was not simply a vacation; it was an unforgettable adventure wrapped in world-class luxury and hospitality. Where do I even begin? As an avid traveler, I read and watch hundreds of hotel reviews, yet I regrettably never take the time to write them. However, as I experienced the magnificence of the RC Safari Camp in the Mara, I knew I had to. My husband, daughter (6yo), and I just departed after spending 6 nights at this luxury safari camp. It’s more than just a place to rest your head between game drives, it’s a place that feels like home. I will never be able to put into words the experience, but I can tell you that you will not regret spending your time and making memories here. As my husband and I always say, the people are what make the experience and that is 100% true here. To our friends at the RC that now feel like family: -Nicholas: The best guide in the Mara. We had the pleasure of having Nicholas last year while at the JW, and he is a big reason we decided to make the journey to return. He’s extremely knowledgeable, personable, and strives to deliver the absolute best drives. He is great with kids and has taught our daughter (and us!) so much about each animal! We thoroughly have enjoyed getting to know him and spend time with him. -Justin: You’ve created a very special place and built a very special team like none other. We had the most magical stay at The Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara. This was my second safari but my very first time in Kenya and the first safari experience for my husband. We were also celebrating our honeymoon, which made this trip even more special, and everything was simply perfect. The setting is absolutely breathtaking, in complete harmony with nature. But what truly makes this place exceptional is the team : incredibly warm, attentive, and genuinely caring. A very special thank you to Lucy, our amazing guide, who made this experience unforgettable. We were lucky enough to see the Big Five thanks to her, she truly turned our dream into reality. Julius took wonderful care of us at every meal, always with such kindness and attention to detail. From the moment we arrived on the airstrip to when we left it was an absolutely spectacular experience! Our guide, Kool, was so knowledgeable about everything and every day on safari was a new experience, even after 7 days. The photography studio was a major perk. I learned so much from John and Duncan, even venturing into bird photography. Hellen, our butler, was always pleasant and attentive. The “tent” was absolutely luxurious. The cultural ambassadors were so welcoming and educated us daily about different aspects of the culture in Maasai Mara. I can’t say enough good things about all the staff!

The location, the luxury, the food, and the service have all been incredible, but what really made our stay special was the people. A special shout-out to Karoki, our bartender, who has been absolutely fantastic. He’s friendly, attentive, and always made us feel welcome. Michael, who has been serving our food, also deserves a big mention. He has been incredibly attentive and always made sure we had everything we needed. I also want to give a huge thank you to Chef Bhimal and the other chef on the team. They really went above and beyond for me. There was a particular dish I wanted that wasn’t available, and they went out of their way to prepare something special for me. That level of personal attention and hospitality genuinely made an impression on me. The marketing team has also been wonderful, and honestly, the entire staff deserves recognition. Everyone has been so kind, professional, welcoming, and willing to go the extra mile. The Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara is beautiful, but it’s the people who make the experience truly unforgettable. Our stay at the Ritz-Carlton Masai Mara was truly one of the most unforgettable experiences of our lives. From the moment we arrived, everything about the property and the people made us feel incredibly welcomed and cared for. A special thank you to our butler, Chris, and the camp manager, Sigi, who were absolutely outstanding. Thy went above and beyond throughout our entire stay and always seemed to be one step ahead of us, constantly keeping our preferences and needs in mind. Their attention to detail, warmth, and genuine care made such a difference and really elevated the entire experience. Every member of the staff deserves recognition as well. From the bartenders to the housekeeping team to everyone working in the restaurants, every interaction was met with genuine warmth, friendliness, and hospitality. It was clear that the entire team takes tremendous pride in creating a special experience for their guests. And then there were the game drives — simply breathtaking. Seeing the Maasai Mara and its wildlife up close was something we will never forget. Our driver, Lochiam, was incredibly knowledgeable, impressive, and passionate, and his expertise made every drive even more remarkable. His ability to spot wildlife, understand animal behavior, and share his knowledge of the Mara made us feel like we were experiencing the reserve in a completely unique way. The combination of the incredible setting, exceptional service, unforgettable wildlife, and truly wonderful people made this trip something we will talk about for the rest of our lives. Amazzing. Been there! Done that! What an amazing and immersive experience!!! Don't listen to people that don't know (Cough Cough). Only positive things to say about this place. 5 Night 6 Day stay with my wife and another couple. Location Location Location! Best in class service, from the top to the bottom. No holes anywhere. Seconds from leaving the camp you are in the park witnessing the sunrise while checking out the deaf hippo and the hundreds of Zebras. You never know what you are going to see, but there is always something right when you start. Sip your cocktail or beer at the bar and spot the animals out in the distance. Early morning coffee watching a white Rhino eating, having lunch with giraffes just cruising, baboons running across the field. Nuts! Tents were amazing, the service in the resort from house keeping, to our Butler Ali, our guide Lawrence, our Hotel Camp Manager Sigi, Tom serving hot coffees before each game drive was an epic adventure in the most posh way possible. Notable mention: John the photography expert onsite will loan you a camera with long lens, download your shots with you everyday and give you first hand pointers on how to make better shots. Everything was above and beyond. Everyone kept saying how lucky we were for getting the big 5 in 1.5 days of our stay. But everyday was an epic adventure and something new to see and experience. The location is safe for the natural environment, the resort is super cool and inspiring, but what makes everything special in Kenya are the people. Hands down....Badass! We've been to some amazing places, and this one is at the top!
