Amazing location, basically on the beach! Clean pool and clean rooms. Very nice and helpful staff. Me and my husband chose Matemwe for a more quiet time, it was as expected. Absolutely worth the money.

I opted for this hotel as it is close to the best snorkeling spots. The check-in went smooth and I was guided too my room, which was lovely decorated and clean as well. This spacious suite had also a bath room with a bath tub and shower as well. Additionally it also had a terrace. Outside you have a community pool and the restaurant as well. I did had B&B, so the breaksfast was included and for me it was sufficient (offering 4 different options + fruits, a fruit juice and tea). I did like the room and the bath room, the WiFi was almost stable, sometimes we had a Blackout, which is kinda commmon in Zanzibar. Sometimes the staff had loud arguments, which I did find a bit disturbing in the early morning, but the staff was attentive and affectionate. In total the stay was really nice and I enjoyed the stay a lot.

Absolutely fantastic holiday! The hotel is very nice, located right by the sea almost in the middle of the village of Matemwe. Very nice rooms, including a great outdoor shower! Thorough, careful and perfect cleaning twice a day. The hotel staff was very nice and everyone did everything they could to make us feel at home. I would like to highlight the following fantastic people: Sauli, Rakim, Charles, Atosha, Emmanuel & Rajab!!! The hotel has a very good pool and great sunbeds overlooking the ocean and reef. There is security at night, everything is absolutely safe, tidy and clean! The restaurant always perfectly prepared and ready to fulfill all your wishes. Nicely landscaped garden, air conditioning in the room fully functional, mosquito nets and mosquito sprays as a bonus. Breakfast simple but very delicious! Great coffee and fresh fruits! Free towels at the pool. Thank you for the unforgettable moments, for the beautiful farewell dinner and the endless football games of Aron and Rajab! We miss you!!

This was, without a doubt, the worst hotel experience I’ve ever had. We booked our stay ten months in advance and paid in full eight months before our arrival, yet it was nothing short of a disaster from the moment we arrived. Upon arrival, the manager failed to greet us properly. Instead, we were directed to sit on the sofas in the reception area without any explanation. It wasn’t until 1.5 hours later that we learned—from other guests in the same situation, not the staff—that our room had been overbooked. We were then shuttled to a half-finished hotel that didn’t come close to the standards of the hotel we had originally booked. We were assured this was a temporary arrangement and that we’d be moved to a villa near the booked hotel the next day. However, the following day we were taken to yet another substandard, half-finished building. This one had two small rooms with beds, an empty fridge, and little else. It felt as though the staff from the downstairs restaurant had been hastily evicted to make space for us. The building was infested with flies, lacked basic amenities like drinking water, towels, air conditioning, toilet paper, and WiFi, and appeared incomplete. The shower didn’t work, and there was even a man sleeping in the backyard. Worse still, it wasn’t anywhere near the hotel we had booked. Compensation wasn’t offered until we explicitly asked for it, and even then, all we received was free food for two days at the hotel. The service at the restaurant was slow, and our orders were frequently wrong. The food itself was mediocre at best. That said, the restaurant staff were very kind and welcoming, which was one of the few positives. When we finally got our room, there were no twin rooms available, so we had to settle for a double bed. While this was fine, the entire experience left a sour taste. The pool area was lovely, and the other guests were pleasant, but these were small comforts in an otherwise dreadful stay. This hotel has great potential, but based on our experience, it’s far from meeting even basic standards. I would not recommend it.

Budget alternative with minimum of service It was okay, nothing more. Good price, but the food was average and the service was slow. Nice pool area and access to beach. Room was good, but there is no wifi there, only in the reception and restaurant/pool. Be aware it is a non-alcoholic bar, so having a drink by the pool is not possible. Lots of very nice hotels with great bars and good restaurants on both sides.

Nice hotel for Mnemba Island tour, very close to the Island and the hotel staff was perfect. I had the best massage ever listening to the ocean and in front of the beach. The food is fantastic and they do not serve alcoholic beverage, despite the fact that I drink, I liked the attitude from the hotel to keep their believe above the tourists. Old hotel that need a lot of maintenance and worst beach in the Island, a lot of seahedges.

Beautiful resort right on the beach. Amazing staff, well equipped rooms and accurate service. Spotless clean, we felt at home from day one and the staff made our stay even more enjoyable. We strongly recommend Bahari villas, this accomodation is the perfect place to relax and enjoy the beauty of Zanzibar. We booked a couple of excursion with mr Ben and everything was perfectly organized.

We spent 10 wonderful days in this hotel which was just magnificent. The rooms are cocooning, they are equipped with an air conditioner and a ceiling fan, they are washed and tidy every day with clean linen. Every evening the staff came to our room to prepare the bed and put on mosquito repellent, which we really appreciated in order to have the best night possible. Regarding the staff, they are all very friendly, starting with the manager who kindly lent us a plug adapter throughout our stay. The servers were also very friendly and smiling, especially Rakim who took great care of us. There were lots of little touches that made all the difference. The restaurant was just wow, the cook prepared delicious dishes for us with fresh seafood, not to mention the wonderful fresh juices we were treated to every morning. The pool was perfectly clean with the view of the beach which was incredible. We were treated to some little surprises, I'll let you discover them for yourself by booking with them. As one would say in Swahili Asenté sana for this stay by your side.

Comida péssima os empregados muito simpáticos mas os serviços péssimos. As fotos que estão no boking não é nada do que se pode esperar. Para uma viagem de lazer . Tens melhores hotéis e resortes na ilha. Não aconselho mesmo nada este hotel.
