Dogo Onsen Old England Dogo Yamanote Hotel

Matsuyama|0.76km from The Ehime Prefectural Culture Hall (formerly Himegin Hall)
Why is it in the UK even though it is Dogo Onsen? Book to explore its wonders. The guest room is a semi-double room, so it's a little small at 18 square meters, but it's completely British with William Morris wallpaper! The furniture is also completely British. I almost forget I'm in Dogo. A refrigerator, electric kettle, tea set, and air purifier are also available. The bathroom is a small unit bath, but there is a large bath so it is not a problem. Amenities include toothpaste sets, razors, and brushes. In addition to shampoo and conditioner, we also have a full lineup of hand soap, shaving foam, lotion, cream, and more. The hot water in the public bath comes from Dogo. Mild hot water. There is a small open air in the back, but there is no view (=_=) There was also a sauna, but it wasn't hot due to a mistake by the staff. Dinner is a full course French meal. I wasn't expecting much, but the food was decent and tasted good. The wine was also plentiful and I was satisfied. However, I chose Japanese food for breakfast, but it was not delicious. Is miso soup, let alone rice, less than instant? Would it have been better to choose Western food? Check-out is at 12:00, so you can go to the Dogo Onsen main building in your yukata. You can also rent baskets and towels. It was at a time when most of the staff were trainees, so it was not possible to evaluate them.

This is an inn that impresses with its polite hospitality. The food is also of the quality of a Japanese restaurant and inn. I think it's probably on purpose, but there are many citrus-inspired dishes, and the taste is light, so people who drink alcohol may be a little unsatisfactory. I think it would be better to make the bland sea bream a little more salty and soupy. The customer service staff are all young and many of them are naive, but I had the impression that they were well educated. The baths are small on the 10th floor with an observation bath and a rooftop open-air bath, but there is no problem. The person who checked us out at the end was also polite and wonderful.

The old hot spring hotel for more than 300 years, the waiter is very close, the hot spring has two floors with outdoor pools, in the morning and evening, male soup and female soup rotation. The Japanese set meal for dinner tastes very good. The drink ordered this special orange juice has four flavors. Breakfast can choose Western or Japanese. There are cute little baskets and slippers at the entrance of the hotel, you can wear the kimono in the store to go shopping. The hotel is a few minutes away from Daohou Station, Commercial Street, Daohou Hot Springs.

When I checked in late at night, the night meal was prepared in the room (maybe because I described the scheduled time) and the heart was warm and warm. It was convenient to have luggage baskets and umbrellas for hot water around the neighborhood. The large bath is also complete in the hotel, and it is put from 5 o'clock in the morning until 1 o'clock at night, so I think it can be used many times for those who like bathing. The location is close to Dogo Onsen Station, a few minutes walk from each Onsen Museum and convenience stores are also nearby, so it is a very convenient hotel. It was a little old building, but I thought the cost performance was good in view of location and service.

I felt like a Showa retro, a guest house without waste. Only the joint toilet breakfast is a little high for 1 10,000 yen per person per night? I thought, but there was no other empty in the center of Dogo Onsen under the same conditions at the same time. It is a convenient location for walking and going to other attractions. The room we stayed in was a very artistic room with a splendid peacock painting on the whole cheek. Breakfast was simple but delicious and all the families changed.

I booked a room for 3 people (4 people) with yo, but it was nice that the room was large enough and there was a separate space to organize the carrier. There was an induction and a kettle, so I could boil tea or simply eat cup noodles. The room was very clean and the quilt was thick. If you come on a family trip for three, I would definitely recommend this room. There is a large mart within a 3-minute walk, so it is easy to shop and there are many conveniences. It is an 8-minute walk from the downtown Dogo Onsen, but it is closer than on the map. It is a street where you can walk without any burden even if you have a hot spring late at night. I would highly recommend it if the purpose is to hot springs. I traveled on foot, but it takes 20 minutes to walk to Matsuyama Castle Cable and 30 minutes to Okaido. The downside is that there are no staff who are fluent in English, but there was no big problem. He was kind and mixed English, Japanese and Korean to explain the room well and tried hard. Thank you! I want to visit again next time ^^

Before you go: it is good to speak some Japanese. I tried to book it directly with the ryokan so I could choose a menu plan but the English version of the website was not showing available dates and the Japanese version was not allowing to enter a non-Japanese phone number. I emailed them (in Japanese) and was able to get a reservation with the meal plan of my choice (breakfast and dinner and some special side dishes). We stayed at what I think is called superior Japanese room. It was very spacious. Besides the onsen on the first floor, the room itself has a large ofuro. Meals were served in our room. I liked this for breakfast but missed seeing people around dinner time. The onsen dowstairs has two large baths, one is closed and the other is open with rocks and vegetation around. A glass window separates them. After the onsen, there is self-service beer and/or ice-cream. The food was amazing! But I think I went overboard in ordering the special sea bream sashimi. We stayed two days there, relaxing at the onsen after climbing the Matsuyama castle ramp/steps or after cycling the Shimanamikaido in Imabari (about 40 minutes from Matsuyama) felt like heaven. The staff was extremely warmth and professional. In this place you will see the true Japanese hospitality ”omotenashi”.
