We stayed at the Ellison last weekend as went over to Castlebar to see Christy Moore, we arrived before lunchtime, we had 2 suites booked and the the girls on reception couldn't have been more friendly, they said one room was ready so we could get in early to drop our bags. They also arranged a taxi for us to the airport on the Sunday and booked us in for breakfast. The hotel itself is lovely and our suites were bright and spacious, there were robes and slippers in both rooms, we had a king size bed and a single bed in each room along with a sofa and a mini kitchen. There is free water in the room, tea and coffee making facilities and free biscuits. The bathroom had a range of toiletries too. The hotel is in a brilliant location and is right behind the Royal Theatre, we heard that there was a walkway between the hotels but we didn't use this. Breakfast in the morning was lovely it was a help yourself buffet and the food was of a really good quality. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back again if we were ever in Castlebar.

Stayed here with my girlfriend Saturday night. Check in was very matter of fact...just handed a key and asked to sign a document. No info given on where amenities in hotel are....just bluntly asked what time we planned to have breakfast....no effort made to make us feel welcome. Room was clean and functional...no complaints there. Bar staff need training. Was served Guinness in a wet glass. No eye contact or effort to be friendly from the young bar tender. Returned to hotel after a night in town at 12.25...no residents bar. We settled for a bottle of wine in our room and were handsomely charged 30euro for a screwtop bottle of rubbish and were give two dirty glasses. I don't like leaving bad reviews but I honestly would not be in any hurry to return here.

Had a top class bed and breakfast stay for a number days ,excellent accomodation ,comfortable and very clean with a very warm welcome on arrival. A first class breakfast each morning with more than enough to eat to sustain you for the day, well looked after by our host and nothing seemed to be to much trouble ,would have no hesitation recommending staying again in future. tony ,rose doyle. Our several journeys to Castlecourt Hotel is always a fantastic experience. All of the Staff there are the best, especially Veronica in the Breakfast Dining Hall a wonderful pleasant, homely person. Castlecourt is like a second home to us. We would highly recommend to all visiting the West of Ireland to stay in the Castlecourt with good country music every night and for a good homely experience.
